Paris Olympics 2024

The most avid sailing fan in the world cannot sell it to me as a spectator sport for people to drop in to once every 4 years. It's just a big pile of poop. :p
Yeah that's one that I just can't bother with. Most other sports I will keep an eye on at minimum.

Agreed. I'm also not keen on some track and field events where it's not easy to tell what distance has been achieved until the result is announced, namely discus, shot put, hammer, long jump and triple jump. I find them a bit boring. Javelin too but I prefer that to the others. At least in something like high jump and pole vault you instantly know as the pole either stays on or falls off.

Its insane but my word is it dull. No idea how anyone specialises in it especially with how fun and varied normal climbing is.

This is the young one says who climbs a lot "its not climbing" and refuses to discuss it further :) However you can say the same of the 100m sprint i guess. Its not proper running.

Do divers have to tell judges ahead of the event which dives they will do in what order, or can they announce just before attempting dive?

I mean, I would suggest the complete opposite with running but thats because I want it to be over as quickly as possible. It doesn't get any more interesting doing it for 400m or 10,000m IMO.

To be fair to the speed climbers, they are pretty much all very good climbers in general, they just aren't usually anything like truly elite so they do still climb a lot.

The Canoe double was fun to watch shame no Brits photo finish for 3rd was insane they kept changing who was in and out :p

Kayak four good to watch to.

A lot less bowing going on in the taekwondo fights, compared to how I remember in previous Olympics and when I fought at national level decades ago.

GB's Sinden through to semis!

I will put you in contact with the young un :) Good luck, free beer if you can convince her :)

2 Brits in the women's keirin final. GTFI. :D

Also Hamish Turnbull is one up against Hooglund in the sprint quarter finals. 2 chances to knock him out. :p
