Just another update

Welcome back. Nice to see you all.

First up we would like to say Thank you once again to tiny tom logan, he of course mate the raid card mod possible.... by supplying said raid card. Thanks mate.

We would also like to thank Asus for the support along the way. They did a great little write up on the rog.asus website that managed to pull in a MASSIVE 31,797 views. This is huge for us and considering the builds not finished.. very impressive. Thanks for the continued support Asus UK and Richard.

To the update!

We start by cutting the 'final' top panel:

339.jpg

That took some SERIOUS measuring skills that's for sure. Couldn't have done it without our trusty digital caliper. To any modder looking for a new tool... it's the one of course:

341.jpg

Now we have to get to work on the pump/res connections. Sorry to anyone who is big on symmetry. Lines pretty hectic here also:

Installed an additional D5 in the second layer of the top panel... more accurate measuring require of course to allow it connect directly to the fitting below:

347.jpg

Next... despite having the wonderful b neg help us out and bend the tubes for the front of the case we just could not get it to fit in with the build, even trying to make the front panels cover as much of the bend as possible it still didn't look neat enough.

So more measuring... more replacement panels... so many replacement panels...!

Pretty accurate fit:

Cheeky shot with 1 of the 2 full pipes installed:

MUCH happier for sure. Both will be filled with white coolant. Really cant wait for this.

Until next time... what are you all up to this week?

wondering how i can justify a raid controller...

looking great. the fittings in the panel itself is a brilliant idea. really like that.

will look crazy good with white tubing.

The tubing on the front panels - brilliant idea. That's going to look amazing

Why, thank you for asking. I've had to RMA my PSU, so I won't be able to see my beautiful Parvum light up this week :(

Thanks Fulax, much happier with the front now.

That's really annoying, had some problems with hardware not working on purchase recently which is rare for me. Glad to hear you'll very soon be lighting the Parvum up!

Planning my parvum :D

:D:D:D thanks for all the support you guys.

I say it after every build, absolutely awesome bro, i honestly cant wait to see this in the flesh!

The same as always.... pestering you on facebook, planning builds, wishing i had more money :P

Thanks davido! Roll on iSeries no? :D, did you fix the motherboard? Sure I read you busted yours.

Haha keep up the pestering, I will always reply just sometimes takes a bit :D

You can always justify a raid controller, so solid and future proof, even if you run 4 SSDs and pull huge speeds in raid 0 you'll always move it from build to build as you upgrade. If SSDs finally start to over take raid controllers as standard you can move it to a home server etc :D Yes you want a £500+ raid card and yes we will make it look pretty :D

That's some neat looking cuts
As always, loving your updates

Me, I'm continuing a week long struggle with blender, trying to put a build together so I can get what I need clear before I get in contact with yourselves :D

Thanks dude, more updates to come very soon!

Ah awesome to hear, we look forward to getting more Parvums out there, keep us posted.

Have you decided on a colour for the coolant?

What he said ^

Post 114 in the thread

I am unsure if this is still their plan though

So to clear this up the plan as it stands is to use both Mayhems Ice White and Mayhems Oil Black. The system holds two loops. We plan to run one of each coolant cooler into the custom res' in the bottom of the case, each opposite colour will then pass through the chamber. Black and white will be alternating as much as possible. I had a few people advise red but I honestly think we will keep this build monotone.

That front panel is looking great with the two tubes. Even better the second you add the coolant.

Thanks cypto, super happy and honestly so excited to fill it :D

More Cable Management

Back once aaaaaaaaaaaaagain!

This time we our tying up some lose ends and working on the cable management in the rear. Horrified if I'm honest at how much wire needs to go in this build.

We start with laying the beast down. Not actually as easy as it sounds:

353.jpg

First problem to address:

Due to the thickness of the res' in the bottom you cannot screw the bottom of the pass through fittings on.. this is a bit of on issue because a few of the angles connected to the acrylic tubing are maybe out by 0.something of a mm or a degree:

354.jpg

To fix this we came up with a solution that worked out EVEN better than expected. Starting with some extenders:

355.jpg

Another pass/fill port:

356.jpg

With these combined you can actually use the ring/nut on the fitting to tighten and pull everything into place:

357.jpg

All done here.... expensive fitting bill...!

Next up we start to install the cables for the rig. Must say Pexon did a great job on the PSU for us. We gave him the exact lengths needed for a LOT of cables. Results super happy. Wanted to keep to one tone, keep it super neutral:

361.jpg

362.jpg

363.jpg

364.jpg

On to hell... the rear! A LOT of cables to deal with:

360.jpg

So before we do this we consulted the Parvum Guardian:

366.jpg

He said if we don't sort it quick time he will hit us with his hammer.. >.<,

MORE mess:

372.jpg

373.jpg

To combat this we need to cut another pane. Drawing first:

367.jpg

Next we grab one of the old panels from Magnus. Love to reuse every bit of acrylic we can. Then of course recycle whats left after that:

Slotting our cable management beast in:

Super stoked on this:

Finally for this update in goes the slot loading blue-ray:

That's all guys and girls. Was great, getting very close now. Loads of progress.

Until next time... What did you have/will have for dinner tonight?

Anyone would think it was a small server rack with that number of cables.

But very nice job hiding them away out of sight, sleeved in grey they look great.

Can't wait to see this finished, progress so far it outstanding.

Altho! your update didn't show the front tubes filled with coolant. And for this I am slightly sad... must now wait for next update

Until next time... What did you have/will have for dinner tonight?

Smoked salmon with a sweet chili sauce on a bed of rice and asparagus. Tasted great!
