Parvum Systems Project Magnus

Sorry for the lack of an update. We have been busy working like mad and spent the weekend at LSUCS LAN 44. For more info check out the website here:
http://lan.lsucs.org.uk/

We attended this event to showcase our cases but also to help raise funds for the special effect charity:
http://www.specialeffect.org.uk/

We auctioned a Parvum ITX with all money going to the charity. It has been a great little event. A couple of photos of the LAN:

For all who want to see Magnus, we will be updating the thread start of the coming week!

Hope you all had good weekends?

Looking forward to Mangus Pics.

LSUCS looked good, I never go to lans :(

Having an internal crisis over fan choice but on the whole good :p

You should! LSUCS is ran by an amazing bunch and is super cheap to attend. Better internet than basically any UK LAN and really just ran brilliantly.

As for the fans... damn they are so hard to choose some times. What was your dilemma?

I'm hoping that my next PC build (can you guess the case manufacturer I'm looking at? ;) ) will be one to take to a LAN or two.

Well I was looking for the best, quietest fans I could.
In the end I'm going with 2*480mm Rads, so I think even if they're not the best, as long as they're quiet I'll hit the temps :p

Everyone seems to have their favourite brand these days :D
I tried a few do far, but I can't say I really like any of them.
Looks - yes, performance/noise ration - not so much.
Going to try Enermax T.B.Silence in my next rig, I am just a little bit worried if they are strong enough for thick rads, but I guess I'll soon find out.

Rear of case complete!

HI ALL!

First up then some cables to connect for the raid card. 8 sata cables in fact! MOARRR cables :(

Connecting the raid card water block to the top GPU block:

Next rather large task was to start connecting all the crazy pass through's in the bottom of the case:

Now for something we have been planning since the start. SSD heaven. In the form of 8 as you may have already seen Hyper X SSDs. These things are amazing. Physically/aesthetically the best SSDs I've ever seen and used and from what I gather the performance will match any other drives out there. Black with orange drives? Not here thanks!

A cheeky shot of the icydock! This will be really useful and fills that spot great:

Last for the update we managed to get the back of the case finished. 95% complete at least. All cables and wiring for the build finished. All fans routed to the required fan controllers, all other cables filtered up the frosted cable cover. Nice LED strip installed behind the cables to make some nice shadows. Again to match the front 4 more Hyper X SSDs. This is a massive focal point for the build. We really wanted to show these drives off:

That's all for today. Honestly though this update was huge for the build. Not TONS of eye candy but just completing the lower loop and ALL the wiring was a HUGE task.

Until next time.... do you like the back of the case and what are you all watching on TV? :)

Looks fantastic,
So many angles in that tubing, what would you recon the full journey of the fluid would be if it was laid flat? 50 feet? :p
SSDs looking good, I don't think my build will go for quite as many lol

Back of the case looks good, but what'll the airflow be like past the windowed section?
And no tv for me, no time :(

This is simply mind bogglingly good! I'm curious as to how much the beast weighs? Especially after all the loops are filled...

I bet you are all sh***ing bricks when time comes for first power-up? This thing better POST!

Wow.
This case is so sexy.
Those SSDs look great on side panel.
Window is a little small?
But I guess that's because of amount of stuff you had to put inside the case, right?

Its awesome huh! Shame I cant carry it alone. Gotta call in the troops.
It does look a little small, but as its just an extra feature window to show some of the cable management. The main window on the other side of the case will be huge :D!

haha now that is a good question. I'll try get you a little approx measurement soon :D it wont be 50 feet but will be a lot! I know I've gone through it but not been keeping track.

Always time for the odd show in bed ;) what are you so busy with? (that was just a curious question not being rude)

Yet again tubing is outstanding and those enermax white cluster fans, don't even get me started! :)

I do love the white clusters! I'm moving away from LED fans just because the ones without seem to perform better.

Love what you've done with the SSDs. Those Hyper X ones a great, aren't they? I've got Plextor and Samsung SSDs too, and the Kingston ones just feel so much more substantial.

Yeah they are soo good! Wish people would push them a little more, performance is the same as any other high end SSD, basically capped, these are just so solid and well finished. Hate SSDs that you can squeeze super easy and probably damage.

We are going to wait until its totally finished and filled and weight it in. It's really heavy now. Defo not able to move it solo. We will see if 8pack can carry it at iSeries.

Ah dontt.... most hardware came direct as sponsorship and we didn't test it on air... 'that's the parvum way' haha.

Those drives look great, seriously nice looking build so far.

Thank you hawk! Really happy with them. Cant wait to set the raid up.

Well I have little spare time between work/son/partner so my busy is time split between playing and making games.
although recently it's been PC design and as I've recently received an email about how busy you guys are so my PC looks like it'll have a delay and I fear the design will change further, the more time I get the more I fiddle with the design. It's half the fun ;)

I was planning one of the kingston's myself, look so good.

Are you guys planning to make bigger cases at all?
S2.0 is a mATX, same as s1.0
Yeah, it does look great but...
I was even tempted to cancel my pre-order of S8 when I heard of S2.0... Until I heard it's mATX.
Ok, ok, I'm not complaining anymore :D
You know I love your work anyway and I think of Parvum as best case manufacturer in UK, that makes you one of the best in the world as well :D
Keep up the good work and give us bigger cases ! :-)
