Well done, 3 is the magic number, passed 3rd time with 3 minors :p

Shame your mini isn't behaving itself, hopefully it'll stop being silly so you can actually enjoy driving it :p
 
I'm sure it's nothing major, it was working fine until we started messing with the fueses. It's late and dark and cold outside and I don't need the car for a little while so we're gonna have another go tommorrow night, then another drive for a bit to see if anything else falls off :p

In reply to the above; after one year without any no claims, Bell quoted £800 fully comp. I'm expecting someone like Footman James to quote less than that so I reckon when I'm 19 insurance won't be too bad! Probably will have been sold by then, or just stuffed in the garage as I'll be off to uni.

Just checked out their site and they don't insure anyone under the age of 25.
 
Got no idea mate, would have to ask them! Not sure what their non-classic cover prices are like either.
 
What do they define as classic though? It's usually just anything over 15 years even if it isn't really a "classic". So if you just have an older car you could still get classic cover.

Feel quite used to driving my own car now as have been doing so everyday.

Checking my mirrors are the one thing I need to improve. :(
 
Good luck! It's the most stressful thing I've ever done, honestly.

Really hope I can get used to the car within a short period of time. It's frustrating!
 
You'll get used to the Mini in no time :) I was pootling about in mine half an hour after passing my test and it felt so much more easy than the Corsa I learnt to drive in.
 
The actual drive is so much nicer than the diesel of the corolla, so much more responsive. NSL roads are a tad...less refined, though :D It's purely the gears. Having to really move into neutral, then into gear rather than just pushing up or down is a different experience. Think it was heightened by the fact I had no indicators or brake lights for at least half the journey!

I found my clutch to be very hard to get used to but it came through use.

Now I just have my crap gearbox to master. Such a **** to get into 1st or 2nd from higher gears at times.

thats normal on all but nearly brand new cars. trick is, if going from 4th/5th into 1st or 2nd, dont just ram it in, give it a quick double de-clutch and it should slot in perfectly.
 
Made a right prat of myself at the petrol station at tesco :( Couldn't get the nozzle in properly for ages and the auto cutoff just didn't work! petrol went all over the shot :(

Getting used to the thing now though, it's funn.

Mum would've been confused if you'd tootled, she insisted on coming out to see that I was a safe enough driver. Apparently I'm a bit quick for her, despite her doing higher speeds down the same roads most of the time :p

Up for a Norwich meet any time now, will be a little bit younger than you folk, though!
