Same. I didn't know about it at all.First i've heard of this far right controversy, i just had to google it.
Hmm tempted to switch from 1pass after the omarchy BS.
Yeah, I mean with the current landscape I’d have nothing. Maybe I need to go self hosted again.I never used to care much about any politics or stuff like this behind any product, but I got to say I do take note a lot more now before signing up to or buying something, obviously its hard in some cases though. For an example I did close my EA account recently and don't buy any EA game now based on who owns EA.
Regarding the recent discussion, you can find dirt on any CEO/owners of a company, if you voted with your money for everything you can find online you wouldn't own much at all!
I admit, I haven't looked into it a huge amount and these days I try and stay out of drama, but it looks like 1Password have donated to Omarchy rather than DHH himself? Again I could be wrong.I do agree, but I am also seriously considering not renewing my sub over this - the amount of people who have funded this moron who admires Tommy Robinson, is a proponent for culling people like wolves is insane. Framework, Dell, 1Password, Cloudflare etc. It's revolting. You pick your battles I guess, I have been pushing heavily towards a more open/on prem/local/self-hosted model for a while now anyway so it's probably the thing that gives me the last push to fully migrate to Pass.
Ironically DHH was once visibly left-leaning and critical of all the things he espouses now - doubt what he writes is what he necessarily believes, but it makes him much more fame and money which is what he's after naturally.

I think the thing that gets me is foundations like Debian or the like would be kept afloat for years with this money. To be honest I’d never heard of Omarchy until this all came out.Yeah, Omarchy is just his vibe coded dotfiles that people seem to believe is worth millionsI think the thing that gets me is foundations like Debian or the like would be kept afloat for years with this money.
I'm the same, seem to be fed by the algorithm because I follow a lot of open source / linux / unix stuff a lot of this moron which means I sadly know far too much about it. I'm the same as you though, using it until it runs out and anything new goes straight into Pass.
