Path of Exile 2

I think I might give up on Sorceress, I don't think it's a viable class, unless its just a low level thing but it certainly needs a class balance/buffing. Thing is I prefer casters to melee. Will play a few more hours tonight then decide if I should switch to Monk (Don't fancy minions with Witch)

best to go frost with sorc just now, when you get near the end of act 1 you can get cold snap which shatters frozen enemies. Just use frostbolds, ice nova and frost bomb to freeze. The bosses are all slowed so much it's way easier. killed them all first time so far since changing over to it

What are you meant to do with extra uncut skill gems if you have all the skills you want, or can't be upgraded, because the gem isn't high enough rank ?

Stash them for future characters?
I could, but they aren't that hard to come by and will just take up stash space. Would be good if there was a way to disenchant them for materials, or combine them to increase the gem rank. But as far as I can see those options don't exist.

I am currently lvl 15, still mincing around Act1.

LOVE the game. I don't understand why people say it's hard, like dying to the first few bosses over and over. I've only died a couple of times, once to a hag red circle outside of the first town and then to Draven who took 2 attempts to kill.

Just got myself a couple of nice upgrades, including weapon and I'm smashing through mobs. Playing Warrior, 2h Mace with rolling slam as the main ability, with shockwave totem and infernal cry. Also 30 spirit on Herald of Ash, making mob packs go boom.

I'm not far from the end of act 1 and apparently the end of act boss is pretty hard but we'll see. The pace is great, love the slower pace. The game is a piece of art.

Graphically, the game is a masterpiece. It also runs great on my rig, some stutters in new areas but I think that'll be shader compilation.

Will play a lot more over the weekend, can't wait.

Yeah, this is a big deal for me. I play Diablo IV on a controller and just seamlessly switch to M/KB for inventory management.

I've never found ARPGs easy to control on M/KB. Then it looks like PoE2 with have skills while moving and a dodge roll so controller makes much more sense to me, but not for inventory management! It seems WSAD is an option too, but I imagine positioning will be finicky using that over an analogue stick, I've never used WSAD for an isometric game before.

I'll cope with a controller, hopefully seamless transition between controller types gets introduced soon.
How you finding it mate? So far the controller support IMO has been AMAZING.

Controller in combat works well, except you gotta rebind health and mana. Menu and inventory management is horrible though

I thought the game would have better graphics, it's ok I guess. Especially the menus and UI, it has the quality of a mobile phone game.

Game has crashed a couple times and each time it makes me start the game over - I play 20 mins, crash and then I have to start at the beach again... lame is this normal?

Reached act2 and doing the trials as warrior melee is hard. Might need to invest into some range slam like eq/ the molten projectile or continue levelling to get access to more skills

trying out monk and it's feeling a lot more fun that the sorc or ranger. Has lots of options for range, melee, gap closers, get aways etc

wow the graveyard boss in act 1, could just sit in front of him and staff attack, 55% evasion was enough to just facetank the boss and keep stunning him

sorc was kite, damage, kite, damage, kite, damage

My opinion of this game is slowly diminishing. I prefer the slower, more methodical pace ... but it's actually too slow. Character movement is sluggish... and it's too easy to get cornered as there aren't any escape skills ( dodge roll doesn't allow you to pass through enemies ). Bosses are more worthy of the name, but their health pools are bloated and killing them doesn't feel rewarding - the loot is underwhelming and you can go hours without any meaningful upgrades.

Bit disappointed really - Other than the class balance issues (which will no doubt get sorted in future patches) I feel like there is nothing new or innovative here. Also basic annoying stuff like the map interface being terrible and having to port to town every 5 minutes to empty bags and top up flasks. Game feels very slow and unexciting. The Dark Souls-like style is frustrating (it's ok if you like that type of game but I tend to avoid them like the plague). As for loot, so far I've had the best stuff from vendors rather than actual drops.

I am in no way saying it is a bad game but it is a huge missed chance. Just feels like Grim Dawn with better graphics. 7/10 so far for me.

Enjoying it a lot more now. I think I’m like level 15 or something. Got Essence Drain firing three at a time which is nice. Can kill stuff pretty quickly paired with contagion.

There's nothing Dark Souls about this game. There are tough bosses and that's where the similarities end. DS didn not invent tough bosses.

Combine earthquake with shockwave totem. Good times!

I'm playing with a friend who went Mercenary. We've had to try a few bosses 2-3 times and we are currently struggling to kill the boss at the end of the trial in act 2, but otherwise the difficulty feels pretty good.

I've just unlocked the leap skill for warrior and am 1 level away from unlocking the dual two-handers node. Looking forward to that!

Played for about 6 hours and I'm not the target audience for this game. For the life of me i'm struggling to see what the hype is about and i fell for it.

Visually average, controls clunky, gameplay slow, and the UI is atrocious. It just feels tedious to play. Can't see me bothering with it for a while.
