Path of Exile(diablo clone)

Yeah minion builds are going to get the nerf bat for sure. I think they will scale down the str stacking on some of the key items to combat like baron, Geoffrey’s etc rather or it will have too many repercussions with other builds.

I started the last league as a bow build, couldn't make that one past 87 and then went meta minion and smashed it. I was OP in the end, had a great league, made the most currency in a league ive ever made and learned a lot more about crafting. My minion dude was 97 when I finished the league for a break a few weeks back, cleared everything, could face tank Sirus.

I'm at that stage with POE where I'm keen to make my own builds now, aka starting the last league with my own bow build (that eventually was not end game viable for a league start). I have some ideas around a spellslinger build too and other new wanding skills. I'm trying to work now on items to scale the damage up. It will be interesting to see the new notable gems fit in, it will certainly make builds more interesting, but also a lot more difficult to copy someones build.

The new league should be very good though, I'm excited, I loved breach league and this one seems to be that on steroids along with all the extra ex league mechanics they have rolled into the core game.

fun times!

I dont think i have ever logged into "standard" before, got loads of old characters just sat there, not played for years. Logged in, had tons of "remove only" tabs....never seen those before. Stash was an absolute mess......started to tidy it all up, 1 hour later I just gave up. Will not be logging back into standard. :p

yea I add 20+ tabs every league.
Not sorting them.....

Think I might try my own build. Will have a play once POB is updated.

Difficult to bin the summoner build though as it was so fast/easy to play, just ran through maps! :p

The items were quite expensive for summoner last week. Int to Str jewels were like 180c.
I am not sure what to play this league, ED/Contagion or maybe Dual Strike melee
Standard is dead for me, never played a second on it. Got couple of mirrors in there, 2 mirror drop in 1 league.

cyclone impale seems good, summoners is fine but the wand spellslinger new skill may draw some folks.
Looks like a fun league tho

After a very long break from the game I decided to play the new league :) I have never played a necromancer before so gonna try this build now. My goal is only to be playing casually this league, lvl 90-92 will probably do for me as I don't feel like playing too much lately.

I fiddled around with an Arc/Divine Ire Totem build right at the end of the season, was pretty fun once I got geared and had my ascendancy going. I'm going to use it as my league start but I'm also expecting it to be slow going at the beginning.

The new Archmage support seems like it could be a nice boost to them as I was running with a decent amount of mana. Curious to see how the new Stormbind spell works with Totems as well, might use that if it's decent.

Given the new jewels that expand the passive tree I imagine we will start to see heaps of new builds, or alterations to existing viable builds, gonna be a lot to learn again!

I've dabbled with PoE in the past, don't think I ever got past Act 3 or 4, but then the whole skill tree and systems seemed overly daunting so I gave up.

I want to try it again though and have read and watched a bunch of beginner guides and explanations and feel fairly confident going in this time.

My question is, do I just wing it and build my own character, or follow a build guide? And if I'm following a guide, could I get some recommendations on noob friendly League Starters please?

Have a browse of the forums and try and find a concept/build that sounds fun. There are so many builds its hard to recommend a single one!

There wont be many builds, if any, yet, using the new skills/talents other than theory crafting ones.

Yeah, I've been looking into builds for Delirium but a lot of the videos and existing guides assume you know what they're talking about, but my knowledge is close to nothing apart from the information acquired from the beginner guides and videos.

Look at a few starter videos, then ask what kind of playstyle you like.
Then follow a guide and when you have currency later can try variations and respec if you want.
The game wants you to link skills in your Armour with support gems and keeping those up to 3 link, 4 link and then 5 and 6 links helps with dmg and clear.

Game is fantastic once you have a grasp of the basics.
I played since 2012 and I am still learning things.

Easy to play are, totem builds, set and let the totem do the work.
Freeze pulse totems are popular.
spell casters are also popular.
Bow skills the same.
Melee can be but requires you to be closer and that can be difficult if you dont know the mechanics of the bosses and such

im goin for an ED/Contagion Trickster for my starter this league. Get the feeling that delirium is gonna add a lot of density so having a fast clearer will be nice to start. Ill not start playing till saturday tho gonna give the new diablo season a go tonight.

I always recommend Enki's arc witch for new players...updated for 3.10 and has the best beginner build guide out there. Fun build too

Just started a flame burst/kitavas thirst build to try something different in 3.10 as burny boomy proliferation sounds fun. Just hope leveling is smooth.

Anybody have feedback on the new league mechanic, I've not had much experience with it yet...
