3600mhz CL17 kit, tried just using the XMP it wouldn't work, even when I reset and put in timings manually, hoping a BIOS update might help.

Damn, might be because you've got a better board, I'll update mine to a later BIOS as I'm currently on F5 IIRC.

Well, its gonna be a bit hard comparing yours and his, because the viper steel ram over 3866+ is B-die and all speeds below 3866, including yours, is not B-die.

Have you tried finding out what type of ram yours is, then using the ryzen ram calculator?

It's Hynix CJR, should be able to do 3600mhz easily.

I'm building a brand new system as my existing pc is 10 years old  (see sig)

I am looking at the Ryzen 7 3700K and the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, I was looking at the 32gb Crucial Ballistix Sport LT BLS2K16G4D32AESB 3200 MHz but is the 32gb Patriot ram here a better buy? I will be mainly gaming on this pc if that helps.

Bought 4400 on Monday for 110. A day after it is back to 100 :p

DHL 19 pounds delivery was really impressive. 3 pm - packer received in Manchester , 11 am next day delivered in Copenhagen.

So will monitor pricespy.co.uk in addition to Swedish one in future :)

Thanks for discounts, it is definitely makes sense to shop at Overclockers UK even for nordics residents.
Cheers!
