I’m sure Intel testing them is fine, it’s if retailers are testing them, that’s the problem

100% although I think we have had the OCUK official stance on what they do more than a few times. The question I guess is do you trust it. In this instance I would give them the benefit of the doubt I think.
 
I don't think you can, what you can see is an amount of corrosion where the pads were not touching the pins. if I cleaned it with ipa you wouldn't see a thing i'm fairly sure of that. Interesting but i'm fairly sure the socket will not have enough pressure to damage the cpu pads with indents.

Interesting stuff. Seemingly quite a lot of pressure but if you spread that across say 1700 pins then pressure per pin is not that much, assuming this is similar to the high heels argument. A rabbit hole I don't want to go down :cry:
