Paul Daniels now - What a shame *Goodbye Paul*

I'm guessing that jsmoke meant "This post sums it/b] and you can go through life thinking you're immortal until something like cancer hits you. Maybe we have more time than Paul Daniels but maybe we won't even live as long.

If read like that then a simply typo makes it sound nasty when it probably wasn't.

Edit: Just seen jsmokes latest post and it seems his comment was indeed deliberate and not a typo. So :confused:

They have been saying "soon" for the last 40 years. Don't you think that's kinda funny?

Paul Daniels wasn't/isn't just a good magician, he was a good showman and a bit of a comedian too, though a little scripted.
One of my favorite tricks I remember as a kid was this one, although I remember it being an orange.

That news sucks - lot of respect for Paul Daniels. My favourite memory of him was that iron maiden escape trick where he didn't escape in time and the programme just ended. People were ringing the bbc to check he was ok

Lucky you missed the following days performance, apparently he made it reappear but it was a crap trick.

It is sad yes indeed, he is 77 a good long life, my Mrs has a skull base tumour since the age of 32, 7 years have passed with many problems, and many more to come:(:(:(
 
Always enjoyed watching him as a kid too. Very sad.

I really don't understand why he gets such a hard time from so many people. Jealousy, perhaps?
 
Soiled it a little bit with his expose the real me tv stuff a few years ago.

That said, always for me ill remember the entertainer. The 80's were great for the guy, game shows, kids tv, and of course the magic show.

Odd One Out, great game show he fronted in the early 80's, one to be remembered for the happy guy he once was.
