Avoid paypal, they charged me fee! I better off stick with my normal way of paying ocuk. The refund can be nightmare at paypal take a month before return to my bank. Never use paypal ever again.

What exactly are the charges?
Still not sure we (the consumer) are charged a fee on Paypal or OCUK are charged instead - according to this page on Paypal

Could do with a clearer understanding from OCUK of the exact charges incurred for people like me who hardly use Paypal.

Suggestion - please consider this OCUK...
A better idea would be to use the free Google checkout, all you need is a free Gmail account and it securely remembers your address and payment options. Its keeps a record of your past purchases and is quicker and easier to use in my opinion. More information on these Google pages.

Well that just sucks, was trying to order so bits and i got this message....
"Your address has not been confirmed by Paypal, as we do not accept unconfirmed addresses we must ask that you choose a different payment method through our standard checkout"
My paypal is a verified account but still no luck :-(

Thats normally the message that comes up when you've recently changed your address/payment options.

Read more on conforming address on Paypal here. And more Paypal information here.

From Link above....
* The buyer may have recently added the new address to the PayPal account.
* The buyer lives in a country where address confirmation is not available. (At this time, only addresses in Canada, the United Kingdom and United States can be Confirmed.)

Noooooooooo....

I have been saving up a stash of money in my paypal account for quite a while, out of the way of the wife's prying eyes.

It is now going to be used for random purchases :(

Great i only wish more online store,s made the use of paypals payment service.
Might also make the wife happy as i will start to sell off some of the copious amounts of old spare hardeware i have inorder to fill up my Paypal account to get a few more nice shiny parts for my system.

Fantastic news, all the stuff i tend to flog on the bay allows me to build up savings in paypal that if it were just in my bank account would get sucked up by the wife :)

Thanks for info.

I dont own a credit card and have used a card called "3v" to verify my paypal account.
There basically a prepaid voucher (like buying credit for a mobile) and are classed as visa. This lead to problems in the first place with ocuk as i was having a different credit card number with each order. They refused an order because of it :(

I thought paypal now being available would be great until i went to order the last bits i needed for my WC loop  but it looks like i will just have to keep asking freinds and family to order stuff for me.Shame really as have no probs using paypal with two other uk retailers.

I'm having the same problem. I've been using paypal for quite a while, and on paypal, my postal address (home address) is listed as "Home Confirmed". Tried to place an order with OcUK paying with paypal yesterday, and I got the same message in the above quote...:(

The only thing I can think of is the American Express card I added to the paypal a few days ago and set it as primary...but I don't see what's that gotta do with this since my home address is confirmed...
