PC Exclusives?

Hey all :D

I was thinking about PC gaming then I suddenly realised something...

..I can't think of a single 'epic' PC exclusive game, which troubles me.
So I ask - are there still any AAA PC games out there? Games which are (preferably) new? Games with stunning visuals, gameplay AND story without mods?

I'm not all that keen spending a lot of money on a PC just to play games which are available for my console.

(Btw, yes I did read that list of PC games, but it mostly seemed like old or multi-platform games)

PC has some great exclusives and the benefit of having superior versions of multi-platform games along with a more open approach to most games, as in modibility and customisation.

Let's see, DiRT 2 on PC with 8xAA and superior visuals with double the framerate of consoles? Yes please.

There's no comparison. It's just a superior experience, however the PS3 has some great exclusives so it's worth having one of those too. The 360 not so much, has hardly any decent exclusives. (this year is bleak for 360)

get some combat flight simulators!

theres a few that are good;

DCS Black Shark/A10 Warthog (combat helicopter/bomber plane)
IL2 1946 (ww2 planes)
Rise of Flight (ww1 biplanes)

There is also il2 cliffs of dover, but I havent played it yet. Maybe someone else can confirm if its a corker or not.

Useless waffle

Go and read what he asked and then read what I said, you'll see how irrelevant your reply was.

For the record I think there are console games that aren't bettered by anything on PC and PC games that aren't bettered by anything on console. They both offer different things and are both equally great. If you can't see this then you are a fanboy.

What the OP needs is to experience a multi monitor setup and flight sim x on high details.

Then he will see the "light".

***IMO*** consoles are great for just loading up, whacking in COD or some other generic shooter and getting on with it. However, they simply don't have the power to run games like a good PC can. OTOH, a good PC costs a lot more than a console, but then you get into other reasons for owning them - I use mine for actual work, web browsing etc - stuff that doesn't isn't easily feasible on a console.

PCs all the way for me. I will NEVER convert to a console! lol

As for what people have said about flight sims - I agree fully. Flight 'sims' on consoles are nothing but arcade games. On the PC, it's a whole new level. DCS: Black Shark / A-10C, Falcon 4.0 - not possible on a console.

I find I will play different games on a console than a pc.

For example, on a pc I will rarely play single player games for very long, wheras on a sofa sitting in front of a big tv and a console I could play assassins creed very happily.

Wheras playing it on a pc feels a bit shallow or something...maybe because my monitor is much smaller than tv so I feel less immersed in the game...I dunno.

Also think sitting upright in my desk chair has something to do with it, feel less relaxed.

You do know you can connect your pc to your HDTV and use a xbox 360 controller for many pc games right?

Why not just have both?

Its not like a PS3 or xbox 360 is that expensive these days.

Ive got a very high end PC, a PS3 and a Wii. To be honest though, i barely touch either of the consoles :/

So are PC's.

Very true, my point (not very clear reading back) is that with a console you just whack in the disc and play - no installation or config etc needed. You don't have to fanny on with drivers, and overclock settings etc (ok most PC users don't either, but I'm going off personal experience). Basically PCs don't just work out the box like a console, but IMO the hassle of setting them up is so worth it.

Oh forgot to say that the only console in the house is a wii, but that's a completely different arguement. I would never play COD on a wii for example, it's simply not what they're made for. I love Wii Sports Tennis on the wii. Great laugh with mates.

On various PS3 games, you cant just "wack the disk and play" you got to install some of them, Some take longer then a pc game to install!!!

MGS4 anyone???

I will hang myself If I ever have to play fps on a consoles with a control pad.

Don't get me wrong, I have a xbox and a wii but they're just sitting there collecting dust.

Also, adding to this, if you have a good PC with a fast SSD your ready to play a game on a PC as fast as you are with a PS3 lol. Got both myself but each has its pro's and con's.

As for exclusives, the PS3 has some seriously good games on it, god of war 3 and killzone 3 being more memorable than uncharted 2 in my opinion. Graphics are very good in all 3 mentioned and comparable to PC, which for a console is pretty good.

You don't need exclusives on the PC is the developers keep giving the multiplatform games the love they do at the moment. Crysis 2 having a dx11 patch for PC in development for example. PC users getting free DLC where as console users have to pay for the same content etc lol
