PC Exclusives?

He shouldn't have to turn it down that low. I'm runnin the same card around medium settings and it runs smooth. The game is cpu hungry - overclocking his i5 would probably boost performance significantly.

it wasnt general advice about his performance, i was more pointing out how low the settings are on the console version

Think Redstar was pointing out to put it to minimum to get console level graphics which is pretty true. I kinda got bored trying to tweak it for a happy medium between performance and looks. Thought VRAM was a big limiting factor on that game so was just going to leave it until i get a second 5850.

Id imagine this will use more brute force as the 1gb vram will be the same. Yeah your right as to my point, glad somebody got me! :D. It a tough game to run, with my set up its still a pain :(

*sigh*
Not interested in the console war >_>
For those telling me to get a better PC - I Don't have one -_- try reading OP again.
For the person who wouldn't class RDR, MGS4 etc as AAA, well then your wrong.
For those saying "try flight sims with multiple screens", thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not interested at all in Flight sims, Racing games, MMO's (much) or especially RTS games (Yes including shogun 2).
Personally my PS3 is good enough, I enjoy my games and just because PC graphics can be better, that don't mean PS3's have crap graphics. It has smooth HD on my favourite games, everything else (in terms of hardware) is optional.

I haven't slated PC gaming at all, I just want to know:
Are there ANY UPCOMING FPS (or maybe action/ adventure) games which have life-like graphics, hollywood style visuals etc. Seems so far that PC exclusives (that I would be interested in) are dying, but multiplatform games seem to 'better'.

So, are there any you can recommend?

If not, which multiplatform games are you looking forward to?
Personally I'd say TES: Skyrim ( >The witcher), Battlefield 3 and (if due this year) GTA 5.

As for old games i'll be trying: Crysis, CoD W@W/ MW1, CSS and Gta 4

The PC versions of most multi platform games are a lot better than there console versions. Have you played the PC versions of any games, particulary games like Bad Company where there is a higher res, smoother FPS, higher AA, more effects and generally better quality?

Likewise, i will remember the above next time i play Arma 2 and Rfactor 2 on a console with mods :D

I can't wait for rFactor 2. \o/ Sadly though it'll take a while before the mods are released. Remember rFactor? it was years before great mods were released for it.

If you don't actually have a decent PC, why are you so intent on finding graphically intensive PC exclusives to play? Nothing anyone has suggested (particularly GTA IV and Crysis) will run or look good on a sub par PC.

Apparently it'll be quite easy for existing rFactor mods to be converted to rFactor 2. There are also groups that are currently working on rFactor 2 mods, such as CTDP F1 2009 and RMT World Super GT 2. Source.

I find your lacking ability to understand worrying.

I can't put it any clearer than this:
I. Do. NOT. Have. A. PC.

Why you ask? How would you feel on spending a large amount of money for a new device for gaming only to find out there aren't any exclusive games you like?

Plus its always better to plan ahead. So I'm looking at what 'AMAZING' games the PC has to offer which I would find interesting and are DUE. (So again) Thats FPS, Action, Adventure and MAYBE Fantasy RPG (If its Skyrim / Dark souls quality)

If you are only bothered with FPS,action/adventure and action RPG's and don't care about sub par image quality/graphics and framerates then just stick with consoles to be honest.

If you want to play everything with outstanding image quality at 1080P +, great framerates, are interested in mods and love simulation,MMORPG and strategy games then get a great PC.

Or if you arent poor, just get both?

sounds like ur only really into console style games, so u'll be hard pushed to find pc exclusives of console style games

but if graphics are what ur after, then consoles really cant compete with pc graphics

besides, a pc is just about gaming, u can do a lot more on them that u cant do on consoles

so its not like all the money is for gaming only

You don't have a PC, so what's the point in wanting to know about PC exclusives? You're not going to be able to play games on PC (exclusive or not) unless you shell out for one, and it seems like you've already come to the conclusion that there are not enough 'AAA' (what a load of bull) games on PC worth your time.

But for what it's worth, The Witcher 2 is looking to be an extremely good game. Maybe you should go read about it and watch some videos, not that it will make one iota of difference because you're never going to play it. At the same time you're trying to find out what decent games are on PC, it also seems you're trying to find reasons not to bother with PC games at all.

I guess what I now want to know is: if there were a handful of "AMAZING" PC games out or due for release soon, would you buy one? If the answer is no, this thread seems a bit moot.

I really don't mean to argue with you; it's just that I'm failing to see your angle.

This all being posted from a smartphone then?

Arma 2 looks awsome on a pc. exclusive as well

But..it isnt an AAA title. It doesn't have any hollywood style cuscenes and unfortunately has far too much depth and substance to it. Also its been out nearly 2 years now which is quite frankly an embarrassment......it should've had 6 identical sequels by now.

:p

Diablo 3? That's one of the main reasons i'll be upgrading my PC. To be fair though, if you don't like strategy games, mmos, and don't think superior visuals, mods and dedicated servers are worth the price of a decent gaming PC, you'll be better off sticking to consoles. From my point view, even though many fps aren't exclusive to the PC, they might as well be as playing without a dedicated server and with a pad detracts from the experience to the extent that I wouldn't want to play them in the first place. I'm not a PC fanboy btw - have all the consoles and split gamimg equally between PC and consoles - but once you're used to online gaming with a m&k and dedicated servers it's pretty horrible going to p2p and pads - at least for anything pacey that requires a decent aim (so not Killzone ;)).

And yes, RDR got pretty dull pretty quick and FF13 is bloody awful! AAA my arse :)

Thank you!!! A Suggestion at last!

Although I didn't mention anything about not wanting mods or dedicated servers o.o
Modding is something I'm interested in. I'll look into diablo 3 btw.
thanks for your advice ^^

If you want PC exclusive AAA FPS titles then you are at a loss. Sorry.

But getting a PC is so worth it for the massively improved visuals and multiplayer experience. Not to mention all the other awesome "non-AAA" games you are missing out on.

I'm planning on getting a PC and if I like the games a lot then i'll spend extra.
I WANT to invest a good PC for games. I want to TRY PC gaming. I Want to play games that I'm going to ENJOY.
But I just can't find any upcoming games which interest me enough (With the exception of maybe one or two upcoming games and a few old ones)

I Never said that PC doesn't have many good exclusives, I just can't find one I'm going to enjoy TONS. Yeah I might have fun in CSS or w.e. but that stuff depends on m8s who i'll be playing with. (I Live in a console dominated area - only 4 PC Gamers I know)

I didn't say the witcher will suck. Sure I'll read about it and check out more videos (the first one gave me a bad impression due to it freezing (small thing I know)). If I do like it then I'll get it. If there was a handful of amazing PC games out there then I'd try them all (in order of which they interested me). I just don't like the idea of spending £800 on a PC to play games which are on my PS3 (even if they are better on PC)
If I like a lot of games on PC (and there are a few) then i'll just get a good PC

As for the term 'AAA' I didn't make it up -_- just if I used it I'd thought you knew what I meant easier.
