"PC Games" Forum!

imho after years of gaming console gaming in my eyes is the best option in terms of not worrying if your gonna have driver problems, hardware problems etc, i do like pc gaming but i dont see the point anymore after buying an xbox 360.
If you don't know how or can't be bothered then fine, but why make such a fanboyish thread?

Personally, I think that both platforms have their good sides and their bad sides.

For example: For me the increased graphical fidelity and better controls I get on the PC offset the sometimes annoying need to tweak and fix things, whereas on the Xbox 360 the simplicity and casualness of it makes up for the fact that the graphics are poor in comparison to the PC and that the controls are limited.

Also it's just basically a hole you fill up with money every month for new hardware.

Try every 12 months or so and you'd probably be right.

I bet there's loads and loads of people laughing with their year old 8800GTX/C2D setups still.

That's IF you want the best of the best that is, otherwise you won't have to upgrade as often, heck them early adopters of C2D/8800 GTX cards ain't gonna be outdated until like February 2008. (Not including the 8800GTS which probably won't be too big an improvement)

My next upgrade will be in May time probably, that means my current PC except the graphics card and one hard drive will be 17 months old.

I wasn't, i just had an urge to buy new hardware every month.

It was more the fact that i bought a X1900XT-X then 6 months down the like i sold it for £100 when i bought it for £300. That was the last straw.

Josh

EDIT- I have gone mac, so ill never go back again. Im more than happy, havn't spent any money on them.

Seems very dull and boring in there, all wanting mass effect. and talk of assassins creed next year, oh how i love the fact us console gamers come first, we may not have crysis, but with mass effect on the verge! who cares?

Im glad i made the right choice!

I guess i be playing Unreal Tournament III on my PC next week....

So when will you be playing it on your console ??? :p

I am useless at playing FPS with a control pad so I use my pc for those and 360 for whatever else now. As said before tho, the PC is far too versataile to do away with completely. I use it for all my music, films etc.

yeh i know this. i just think atm pc gaming has declined :(

any idea on xbox release times?

From what i've read they've not started work on it yet, they wanted to get PS3 out of the door first.

It's not like they have to make an entire game from the ground up though, so i'd guess within the next six months.

Edit: See Here

PC gaming at the moment has never been better - Crysis, BioShock, COD4, GOW, UT3 to name a few

Fair enough that only Crysis out of that lot is a PC exclusive but all the others run far superior to their console ports (depending on the hardware of course)

Put it this way after Christmas I'll have purchased far more PC games than console games over the festive period and I own both a 360 and PS3!

Gamers are gamers, doesn't matter platform you play on. We aren't enemies fighting each other for world domination. Consoles are trying so hard to do what pcs have been doing for years. PC gaming will always be first and consoles will always be playing catch up. Its just a fact.

It's not my type of game that's why :p

Agree with your completely. The posibility of better graphics, mods, can input contoll pads the likes of N64, PS2, 360 etc. Aswell as better FPS controlls on with M/K. There are a fair few games out there already that are good for the PC

I saw this game advertised along time ago, Watched it in various stages of development, And wanted to play it ever since. Unfortunately, I got myself a 360, and I'm still stuck on a crappy 5200 graphics card. So Simply put, Although I'm dying to play it. I haven't. I know I'm missing out, I really am. I have regrets because I want to play, but I find solace in the fact I have my 360 and some nice games on the horizon.
