Pretty much, the info from Der8auer is that the Die is close to 4x the height with about 0.5mm of Solder before contact with the Heatspreader. Apparently removing the solder and lapping 0.4mm off the CPU should get it closer to comparison with the 8xxx CPU's. Honestly not sure what the hell Intel's been smoking.Didn't followed closely the "joke" today. Since took 7 1/2 hours to get from Bristol to home tonight. M4, M5, M42, A42, M1, M18 all absolutely at crawl speeds. (30mph average for the whole trip)
But what I saw briefly is a soldered CPU that needs deliding, lapping and liquid metal to perform better!!!!! For p sake. £600 ($520) CPU!!!
