These sound like a right bunch of idiots.

Same company who I bought King Arthur 2 from as it said it was a Steam code. Turned out it wasn't, and they refused to refund me until I threatened them with legal action. Before that happened though, I had about a week of arguing with them over email.

Highlights included me showing them a screenshot of the steam required text (which showed up in three seperate places, but had since been removed) and them still flat out denying it. Also another person had the same and posted on their forum and received a refund. When I linked them to that thread, they denied that they had ever given a refund for that reason, and again told me that the text was never there.

Company of the year.

At least they have an appropriate name, GameStop. They're sure to put a stop to your gaming. Think that should be their slogan haha.

Gamestop also refuse to give you key codes until you install their app, in my case it tried to format my whole drive upon being uninstalled. Makes me wonder if they were just being vindictive. :(

Decided to email them yesterday about this, and once again told me via the automatic reply that I would get a response from them within 24 hours. Well, 24 hrs up now and guess what.... no reply.

Try writing on their support forum

I ordered the Far Cry 3 bundle for £5 but when i went to play it yesterday it said the key was already in use. I wrote a message on their support forum about it and within 20 minutes they had sent me a new key which has worked fine.

I was quite impressed!

Out of interest, the "key was already in use" message. When did that come up? Through the GameStop App or UPlay App?

I got a similar thing but only for the extras, when putting the key in through the game option menu, within the game itself. Not quite sure if you automatically get them or if they are not available in the UK.

Haha, didn't even get an email to say the transaction was cancelled. Not only did this bunch of shysters mess up in the first place, they don't have the balls to do what they say they're going to do. After ordering, the message we got was "Order Status: Processing. Your order has been received and queued for processing. You will receive an email within 1 business day, at which time you will be charged and your products delivered."

Now i'm not sure of the legal implications of this, but i'd say they have to honour the sale based on their very words above. And here are the screenshots I took at the time as evidence:

As far as I'm aware there's nothing in law to make them honour the price. It's a popular misconception that you only pay the price advertised. You make your contract of sale at the till. If the item is accidentally mispriced then the retailer can state the fact and you then have a choice to pay the correct price or don't buy. The law only stipulates that retailers cannot deliberately misprice items in order to mislead or deceive customers.

Only if they take the money does it become legally binding.

No this was when i first activated it. i got temp banned from Uplay for an hour as well because i kept re-trying the dodgy key.

New key activates fine, and i,like you, tried to activate the extra content with the key and it said it is already in use. I then realised all the extra content was already there ( multiplayer unlocks, tatoo editor, soundtrack and survival guide e.t.c)
