That's absolute rubbish, just because some people make the wrong decision of purchasing a HP/Dell pc from the purple shirt retailer doesn't mean that's the acceptable thing to do. That's like me complaining that I bought a Nintendo 64 for £25 when the Xbox 360 was available.
No, you missed the point entirely.
The point is that all these "other things" which your gaming PC can do somehow add value. My point is all these things that a gaming PC can do, people already have the means to do it in. So there is no additional benefit of having this gaming PC.
If you have no computers, tablets or laptops at all then his point stands, but let me ask you this.
Who in this day and age, has no computers, tablets and laptop turns around and wants to get right into PC gaming? And would such people put PC gaming at the top of his criteria when buying a computer or would "emails, net surfing and Facebook" be at the top of their list?
Also, those that advocate PC gaming is better value for money, please please please answer these few questions for me. It's very basic....
1 - how many computers do you have at home?
2 - how much is your gaming PC cost? (Everything, from OS, screen, to the mouse and keyboard, even if it's secondhand)
3 - when was the last time you upgraded its hardware?
4 - when do you plan the next upgrade and what and how much will it be?
5 - do you think you can play every game that comes out on the PC in a playable resolution and frame rate to your liking until the year 2020 with your current computer?
There is no right or wrong answer, just what you have done, some numbers and expectations.
