PCPer Live - With Tom Peterson

So do you think if AMD didn't cut 7% AMD would have gone "Under"? Places cut jobs all the time to save on cash! It don't mean the going under! you reading int it wrong and reading it how you would like the outcome to be

Right, as you seem to think you know it all about AMD, you tell me why they cut the jobs.

Here is their stock figures for the last year.

And here is their reported losses for Q1 2015

Now putting that into laymen terms for you to understand....

Bob earns £100 a week. Bob's bills equates to £90 a week Bob's food comes to £20 a week. Unless Bob cuts back on something, Bob is going to go bankrupt. that is the simplest way i can explain it.

And why didn't you pick up on the pluses I said of AMD. Nothing but agro with you all the time.

Aaaaand another thread ruined.

Yep stayed pretty much on topic for a page now we're reading about freesync, AMD drivers and AMD job losses...

Let me just point out I didn't start talking about AMD! Nor did I start talking about there wealth!

You always feel the need to defend them even when you think Greg is just talking rubbish, if you've noticed a pattern why not just ignore it or report it if it bothers you that much?

Regarding monitors, VA panel and 144Hz sounds interesting. Always found this type of panel to be the best all rounder.

I was enjoying this thread and adding to a serious (but friendly discussion). Then in come the fanboy comments and attacks and thread ruined :(

Surely AMD's finances should be discussed in another thread.

I don't see any issues with TN panels, i've got two and am very happy with them.

I don't state I know everything about AMD that would be Stupid! You the one posting trash like you know the inner works of AMD!
Like I said places cut Jobs all the time! You honestly think if AMD had not cut 7% they would have went under? Do you honestly believe AMD would have got into the Consoles had they been in such a financial position?

Ok
I said my part Greg you have no Proof so lets leave it as that!

Shankly, I was completely wrong and I am trash talking and I don't know anything about AMD, so you are quite correct and they did just cut jobs to save money and they would never get in the consoles if they were in such a finacial position.

Now can you let the thread attempt to get back on topic please? I am seriously looking forward to your E3 thread now.

Do I see 2560x1080 144hz listed in that table? Shame it's 35", get that down to 27/29" and we'll talk :D

I couldn't drop to 1080P now. I got my old Asus 120hz out the other day to have a little play and TW3 looks horrendous at 1080P.

yeh thats the one im interested in trying, curve makes sense with it too
i dont like the 'designer' stands tho, if it sticks out too far in the front i wouldnt even be able to use it :(
wish they would just keep them simple

Ooooh interesting, finally some 1440+ p G-Sync panels from someone other than Acer (don't trust their build quality). I'll definitely keep an eye on any news on those new Asus panels, I did have a ROG Swift but I got rid of it as I couldn't stand the TN panel (IPS is just leagues ahead in terms of picture quality in my opinion).

Back on topic....

Greg what is it about 21:10 and that curved screen you like ? I just cant take to it, its like someone sat on the top of the screen and now it looks like an ice cream lolly pop stick on its side with a bend in it lol.

On a serious note, i cant see the appeal. Movies on it must have black bars and I would imagine some games will have black bars. As for the curve, I'm failing to see the appeal.

Wouldnt a lovely 16:9 4k 75hz with IPS or ideally VA be better ?

I used a curved screen at Team GB's meet in Cambridge and can't say it really stood out for me but I have always had a wanting to try the Ultra wide screens (more of curiosity, so I might well get it and if it doesn't suit, just return it. I know it won't be cheap.

4K is sweet as well but I would want a 40" like the Panasonic but want G-Sync with it.
