PCPer Live - With Tom Peterson

maybe he was an engineer once, but this was PR wrapped in engineering....ive heard of slack journalism but the host did not exactly hold NVIDIAs feet to the fire, he may as well have been an employee.

What do you think he should have held his feet to the fire about?

Ahhhh nothing different here. Back in the day you had to spend a lot of money to tick that '3dfx' settings and effects box too. Proprietary technology. Ah well at least dirt rally doesn't work properly for nvidia users and nor will the new tomb raider I hope.

That's because Dirt Rally is heavy on Compute shaders which is favourable on AMD's architecture. Most Dirt games are. They're AMD sponsored titles too.

See what I did there. It's all nonsense.

LOL, what was Ryan supposed to be grilling him over?

Yer, it would and would be great to have a play :)

Edit:

Doh!, DX12 is neded and none of us have that yet :(

Well for when W10 hits :)

Nvidia don't release nearly as many tech demos as they use to.

I'm sill waiting for their Kepler Fur and Destruction demos they showed off for the 6 or 700 series launch to materialize and their Wave/Fireworks demo, I've even gotten in touch with them but have been met with complete silence :(

nothing in particular, more so they loose credibility with consumers by allowing themselves to be a mouth piece...

Lose man LOSE :D

Anyways, I watched the interview and one of the biggest questions at the mo is GameWorks, which Ryan grilled him on and Tom gave his answer. Not sure what you was expecting in a NVidia PR interview really?

Have you seen the video with the 2 AMD guys interviewing each other? That is what you call a mouthpiece :D

Yer, I do enjoy the demo's and would like a play on some of them. I know you have played with some of the GameWorks libs as well, so you probs more than me.

I've only played around with the Hairworks demo in the SDK available in their dev section, Apart from that a lot of their stuff is stupidly hard to get a hold of :(

I was meaning to have a play with that but ended up playing with it in The Witcher 3 instead :D Damn games taking up all my damned free time :D

You hope a game doesn't work properly for people who don't share your brand loyalty?

What the... I thought you had to be at least 13 before signing up here. To purposely wish people have a bad experience is the worst sort of childish behaviour this forum really could do without.

Yea that's why a lot of people can't imagine nvidia doing that with game works or certain games with over tesselation! But it still happens and we don't actually know why :(

I never hide my fanboy bit but I maintain that I want the games I play to run just as well as everyone who owns AMD, I just want 1 more frame per second more to have a bigger e-peen (not joking) :D

I feel it is quite abhorrent to wish a bad gaming experience for fellow enthusiasts :(

Nice find Greg, will be upgrading soon to a 980 Ti fom my SLi 4GB 670 can't wait.

It is well worth a watch and some good bits of info in there (and some sly digging). I think the Ti is a great card and not badly priced either.

Yea I don't like that anyone on a certain brand will suffer in their gaming experience due to companies playing against each other to make one another look bad. Instead they should just stick to focusing on making them selfs look as good as possible. Without affecting anyone's performance. I feel like there should be high court of gaming that overlooks everything to ensure justice is kept in our master pc race lol

Agreed.

While I despise AMD with a passion (thats me being kind and polite about them) I think we have bigger things to worry about that an AMD Vs Nvidia war. The fact our AAA titles are being knocked down to ****** console level is much more serious.

Yay I'm abhorrent :D Well AMD users suffer a lot so when you hear Nvidia users suffering it does give a kind of relaxing feeling that there really isn't anything I should be buying to fix the issue. I mean as bad as crossfire witcher 3 is the game doesn't crash ever which is something apparently nvidia users cannot get around.
