pc's already playing xbone games

Why did this get derailed to sony? :\ has nothing to do with it lol.

The thing that would **** AMD off is its Nvidia hardware running what is supposed to be AMD hardware :\ And by the looks of its SLI 680s or 670s which is very silly.

No business uses Windows 8 its all Windows 7, they went from XP to Windows 7 and will stay 7 for atleast 7-8 years until support runs out. I dunno about game developers but im sure they probably do the same? Its the same for government too, they use all windows 7 now, well in the UK anyways.

It just makes the Xboxone look really stupid tbh, first its £100 more than the PS4 and now this? I suppose the PS4 will probably do this too though, its just amazing they are not using an AMD card haha.

We use windows 7 and I know the other studio I worked at which is Sony uses 7 also.

One way to look at it is if they are using a PC to show of the new console games, it only means that PC gaming is gonna get MUCH better ports and in the end we will benefit!

Its just a shame console customers are being duped and shown this kinda of performance which they are NOT going to get! 2x 770s is £600+ that is nearly twice the price of the PS4 and £200 above the Xbox lol!

One thing i ask is, are they using INTEL CPUs LOL?!

No it doesn't. It's Alpha state-dev code at an exibition. The fact they've finished the external case design means nothing.

Developers can't develop/demonstrate launch titles on finished hardware - it's far from finished six months before launch. It'll be at least a couple of months before it's all locked down and readied for production.

The architecture is the same - x64 and DX11. That's all that counts. I can only guess how big of a fit you'd have thrown in 2006 when they demo'd Xbox 360 titles on an Apple PowerMac G5.

Yes ment to be 2011LGA X79 platforms :o

See if the above is true how can anyone not find this a bit silly?

It truly is false advertising, im sure the macs with xbox 360 was nowhere near as bad as the above, as games would have been developed on macs and using Nvidia cards?.

Using INTEL and Nvidia on a FULL AMD powered platform is not right in my eyes, i dont mind showing the games on a PC as they are developed on PCs anyways but at least use hardware that is similar to whats inside the damn CONSOLE!??????

Using SLI 770s is NOT showing what the console can do at all!! Even if it was CF 7970s it would still be bad but atleast its AMD :\

Why? The only thing that matters is whether the games on show were representative of what the final thing will look and run like on the actual console, it makes no difference to the people playing the games whether those machines under the cabinets are running AMD, Intel or whatever.

Macs with ATI 9800s, replaced later in the cycle with an ATI card to the spec of the Xenos chip.

As I said above it makes very little difference at this stage of development. There is no direct access to the hardware - goes via the OS and DX11. A DX11 graphics card is a DX11 graphics card irrespective of the brand it comes from. Same applies to the CPU.

Is it representative? Yes. That's all that matters.

Its makes a difference to the same people who argue over similar trivial things on this forum.

Gaming is quite ironic, console games are created on a PC with PC applications and 3D modelling program's and coded for the console using a dev kit on a PC. So no console game would exist without the PC.

Ever wondered why "gameplay" videos and screenshots, hell even "gameplay FMV's" look better, at a higher res and no jaggies...cos they were recorded running the game on a PC.

Is the GPU in the xbox One really only as powerful as a 7770/7790? I mean i know you can get a lot more out of a console but in a few years that sort of power is going to be ancient. Seems like it is going to hold back game graphics for ages.

Yeah they could, but it would use a lot more power and increase the cost of the hardware significantly. £429 appears to be already pushing most people over the limit in the current climate.

Does this mean that no one has actually seen an XBox One actually playing a game?

I doubt it. Both hardware and software are unfinished.

Nearest I've seen was a post announcement session with one of the big mags demonstrating the UI. It was horribly choppy.

Build it on top end PC's and design it for the same hardware in millions of devices vs build it on a top end PC then customise it for millions of different hardware combinations?

It really isn't pathetic for companies to target the largest audience rather than pander to a very small percentage of elitist PC users so they feel justified in spending 1000's of pounds on the latest hardware each year :o

Spoken like a true console fanboy.

It's really not as big a deal as some of you are making out. PC's use the same architecture, the products aren't final, dev kits are probably sparse and not only that this is a particular developers choice to use a PC, not Microsoft.

Ok so the specification is inflated/mismatched in terms of hardware which I'd admit is a bit laughable, but it's code for the same game and will no doubt be the same finished product. The rumour lovers can speculate and investigate all they want when the games are released. Maybe look closely for less SSAA and duller texturing.

Fuss over nothing.

Well, that's the problem isn't it. If they run these games on some uber hyper-threaded Intel CPUs, with 680's and what-not. It's not exactly representative of what the consoles can actually achieve.
