Pentagon releases UFO footage

I guess Project Blue Book didn’t actually close in the 1970s then.
Wasn’t it called Blue Beam? Their was also something called Starwars during the Reagan administration as well if I remember correctly, but that was a while ago so I may be wrong.

Edit- You may be right blue beam was something else.

I don't understand what has changed? That first clip is old now and known as the UFO gimble footage.

All 3 of these clips are relatively old now actually a quick look on YouTube and can find the second clip posted 10 months ago.

It be great to know what toys and weird prototypes these companies make for governments.

Like the bin Laden raid that exposed the yanks have some sort of stealthy blackhawk that no one knew about.

The new part is it’s now official rather than just being fake or the figment of a mentally deranged persons imagination I guess.

yea but why?! Just use your iphone for god sake lol

Yeah, just grab your iPhone whilst piloting a fighter jet at 800mph and track something else thousands of meters away that's going just as fast.

I'm sure the 2x zoom on an iPhone will be fine.

What's changed is that the Pentagon has released the footage, rather than it just being leaked.

It's pretty interesting. Occam's razor says it's some earth-manufactured military hardware though.

i cant see anything.... With modern day 8k cameras we still get black and white grainy images....

This is a clip from 2004, the military has better than 8k cameras funnily enough, you haven't bothered to read the story yet you're happy to type your opinion

First and foremost let’s make it clear this not a thread about little green men so let’s be a little more grown up please.
Grey.
You said green men. A Reticulan's skin tone is actually grey. They're notorious for their extraction of terrestrial human livers, due to iron depletion in the Reticulan galaxy.

Do you have any idea how much liver and onions go for on Reticula?

If you read up about it, it was filmed on an infrared camera I think.

Output from the airframe FLIR package with HUD data overlay. Not the same quality as the latest drone sensors as fighter pilots only need to tell what type of thing it is and then let IFF tell them if it needs a Sidewinder fired at it.

I'd like to know if these UFO's are sighted by the naked eye also they could just be a feature added to the HUD to scared government into giving more funding to military R&D.

The image quality of "Laser Designation Pods" is often surprisingly low for those who don't see them that much as they imagine that these would be amazing. The RAF has used 3 different generations which have a approximate "resolution" of their CCD/FLIR as follows -

1st Gen "Pave Spike" from the 70's - approx 128x128 resolution
2nd Gen "Tiald" from the late 80's - approx 256x256 resolution
3rd Gen "Litening 3/Sniper" from mid 2000's to now - approx 1024x1024 resolution

3rd Gen is currently the standard across the RAF, USAF and NATO etc and it's still not what people would consider "HD". Also, even if it were, the way the aircraft actually records the information can have a huge impact on image quality, so much so that what the pilot see's directly on his screens is often better than what we would see as a recording. So for example a Tornado GR4 flying over Syria in 2019 viewing their 3rd Gen Litening 3 pod on just a 800x600 AMLCD screen will still have been recording the images on a multi-track S-VHS tape from the late 80's for viewing back at base!

I worked on aircraft using 2nd and 3rd Gen pods for over 20 years and the only "high resolution" you would ever see from a plane is from specialist Reconnaissance Pods which are absolutely outstanding picture quality but they are very rarely fitted, and even if they were they can't track moving like the Laser pod can as those use a turret design where as Recon pods are fixed.

Alternatively Drones/Surveillance aircraft are now using full 1080p cameras but nothing of that quality is used on fighter/attack aircraft right now that I know of.
