I still message people when their status is 'Offline'. If I don't get a response in 30 mins that's a written warning.
Lol i think i'd rather kill myself than deal with that.

Most company computers won't allow that.Use something like Caffeine to nudge your PC automatically to avoid going into away mode

.Shows you away if you're idle.why not just fake-fill your Outlook calendar with appointments for the whole day?
Teams is really doing my ******** head in
Well and truly sick of it now. I have gone "old school" and call people on their mobile - shock horror,.I can get up, walk round, scratch myself, make a brew,.wander outside whilst chatting rather than being chained to my surface (which is so ***** by the way) sit outside, breath of fresh air.
There appears to be an exponential rise in the use of teams to communicate - I've messaged you in teams lets have a Teams meeting. No, pick the phone up and speak to me ffs

With everyone working from home I do like the idea of using Teams to call someone. It's more polite, akin to calling their desk phone - in that if they're there they'll pick up. Assuming it's not urgent and they don't pickup, you can send an email or try again later. I view calls to my mobile mostly as something urgent, but it can depend on the person. If you just willy nilly call people on their mobile you might catch them in a (Teams) meeting, in the loo, having a lunchtime mooch etc.No, pick the phone up and speak to me ffs
Ah, the joys of working for/with Americans.I get this a lot too with our internal chat system (not teams). My London location is clearly in my profile but I frequently login in the morning to find someone from the other side of the world frantically pinging me overnight repeatedly asking if I'm there because it's urgent, then escalating to senior management when I don't respond at 2am![]()
