Performance Car Values - They Be Crashing

I wonder if they will cause reliability issues like DPFs did on diesels.

People will just undo it all with mods and swapping exhausts like they do already. MOT testers won't care.

The only people who get done for loud exhausts are the ones who blast though residential areas and get complaints.

Was with a friend last night for curry who has just bought an SVR @Gibbo who you know. He loves it and uses it as his daily and thinks it's superb if a little bit space limited. He has a 488 in the garage and hasn't used it for months, which is quite telling I think. It's white which for me doesn't work but he said it's a hooligan of a car and great for this time of year. He might just be talking up him book mind, but I know how much he paid for it and frankly the price he STOLE it for it's unlikely he will be out of pocket if it lost 50% of its new value next week.

No its a proper car, huge personality, huge noise. If he heard mine he would probably do the filter swap immediately as the SC Whine is bonkers but sounds so good to my ears.
I've got a dragy aka vbox in mine and when I was out the other day in freezing slippery conditions it still registered a 3.3s dash to 60mph, never have I owned a car that puts power down so well, but out of the slippery junctions you can still drive like a proper yobbo and just fling it sideways.

Glad your mate is enjoying. :)

Forgive my amnesia :o but was the SC whine there when we had the meet? - it sounded epic then! - it’s an epic machine, such a short ride with you yet permanently etched in my mind!

So those that would like to get into 20-35k cars (XK/R, C63, M3 or even GTR) should wait or get one ASAP?

It's annoying because I can just about afford one but it would be the stupidest decision ever, should get myself onto the property ladder first :(

Can't see such cars moving much at all, if anything particular GTR's, they all just seem to have found bottoms for the poorer examples and they hover around that.
I also think C63 AMG and E92 M3 won't drop for sure, the better examples will move up.

This thread is really about the 100k plus supercar territory and prices, the lower end of the market for used performance cars is more stable, particular of course the NA variant of cars.

Basically cars which were over priced to start with due to optimistic dealers and people trying to turn a profit, now all PCP cars are coming back on the market there is simply becoming a situation of too much stock, so when too much stock and not enough demand, the pricing needs to drop and for many of these cars they are listed 20-50k over where they should be.

I said that, then I purchased my GTR and have had the best 3 years of my life.

Its going up for sale at £34950 this week as a stage 1 car. Happy to do you a better price to avoid the autotrader and pistonhead dreamer crap that will follow :D

I don't think so no mate.

Here is a couple of youtube clips with the filters:

Last video is before intakes, so no SC noise but a tunnel and tunnels are fun. :D

Guessing there could be good deals on JLR stock? They're in a spot of bother at the minute, posting a loss recently and with job losses possible.

Certainly Range Rovers, the Jaguar stock seems to hold price better, the only F-Type SVR's under 70k are really horrible specification, like bright red interior or no carbon rear wing which just destroys the value. I remember when I purchased mine they said we have a black one, beige interior, less miles, ceramics and nearly 10k cheaper, because its a beige interior, I thought it looked nice but when it comes to selling cars most punters want black interior with stitching matching cars colour.

I just played it safe, got the ultra blue which was colour I most wanted, black interior with blue stitch and the carbon fibre packs and roof. :)
JLR have an F-Type for sale like mine, but no carbon roof, its 79k, I paid 80k a year ago. The other blue ones are all 90k plus.

Certainly some nice AWD R's for around 50k though, but for me SVR or nothing.

I saw a Lamborghini Anus or whatever it's called earlier. I really don't see the point in them.

Why would you buy a Lambo, but an SUV. People probably get excited when they tell them they own a Lambo but then massively let down when they find out it's an SUV :p

Maybe for the very rich who collects Lambo's but also wants an SUV daily can not keep it Lambo, of course they could just buy an Audi also. ;)
