** Peripheral Showcase **

I'd be quite interested to try out the metal keycaps

What worries me about metal or Ceramic keycaps are their weight, it is likely they won't be suitable with the switches I like, either they will make the switches feels too light so will need to get a new heavier set.

Black Dualsense Edge arrived today. Really happy with this combination :D (Wooting 60HE+ and Razer Viper 3 Pro)

Had a button issue with the Edge, been waiting over a week for the supplier to send out a replacement. Rubbish :(

Ah that's really frustrating, what's the issue? I've had the original release Edge since it launched 2 years ago now and outside of the rubber grip starting to come loose it's been really good. I swapped my right and left sticks when I started getting minor drift in the right stick a few months ago and I've got a spare module ready to go if needed as well.

Keychron sent me a PBT cap set as I wanted to see what other ones were like, these do not use the OSA profile they are still rather nice and feel nicer than Wooting PBT keycaps too for example. I wanted the colour theme mostly.

Typing noise is a little softer thock than the stock caps too which I like, the cap height is a little shorter than stock caps too so little lower height profile.

My Ducky Shine II TKL, cherry MX black switches, white backlight, and Tai Hao Sakura keycaps with o-rings

I have had this keyboard for over a decade, in heavy daily use! Changed the keycaps 3 years ago because I had worn through the original ones.

Just had it fully apart for a deep clean and re-assembled, and got a new braided cable for it as the original had begun to split.

Hopefully I'll still be using it in another 8 years when its 20 years old! :D

I wonder if new premium keyboards are still made as well as this one...

Keycap orings, I remember them well, back before PCBs were suspended in silicone gaskets to absorb keycap slap and resonance

Here is a sound demo of the above keycaps, I didn't think the Q6 Max could sound even more thocky, but these caps do just that, and also speed up my typing as I realised in the process.

This is now my main keyboard, my brother nabbed the Ducky One X. Something about this sound and feel and all metal build that is unmatched. Really heavy at 2.1KG as well lol.

That is obscenely heavy! Even a 1kg keyboard feels extremely stout!

I really want one of those fancy braided coiled cables for my keyboard, I was looking but they are all USB-C and the Shine II uses mini-USB. :p

The USB port is on its own separate mini PCB so I could probably mod it to use USB-C, but I can't solder worth a damn.

Replaced my extremely manky original Ducky keyboard cover with a nice new acrylic one. :)

The X button would stick down a little like it was catching and then make a weird squeaking noise. Sent it back and got another one direct from Sony instead and the new one has the same issue. Never had it with the white edge though. Still works, just annoying

Read something similar about the sticky buttons on Reddit for the newer black version, I wonder if they've got a bit of a defect in production. Could you take the faceplate off and see what it's catching on?

Oh really? That's interesting. Is it easy to take the faceplate off? Never looked into doing it, scares me haha!

Nah, it's annoyingly not as simple on the Edge as it is on a regular controller. You've basically got to do a full disassemble - including removing the screws.

It might be worth doing if it's properly annoying though - and if you're relatively handy with these sorts of things you should be fine! I took my original Edge apart when the grips started peeling off as it started to really annoy me when I caught my hand on it and it wasn't too much fuss, there's a lot of YouTube guides showing how to take it apart without ruining anything!

If it continues I think I'm definitely going to have to do it or it's going back. Really want the black one as well as it matches everything else. First world problems eh!

Despite trying a fair few mice using generous return policies I have decided to stick with the next best thing to a modern day EC2 which is the Pulsar Xlite V4.

I can see myself sticking with this, until the Zowie-EC2 DW is released in the very near future (Hopefully)

Keychron Lemokey G2 arrived today, quite nice actually. 51g, PAW 3950, 8K polling, Keychron Launcher support, Huano switches, nice wheel+encoder, skates are OK but I swapped them for Wallhack Pro UWMP yellow dots, comes with a nice light braided cable for charging, USB C to A adapter for in-line dongle use.

For the price it's pretty damn good! I'd pick this over an Endgame XMW series having had them before, it doesn't have a surface coating though so no idea how hard wearing the plastic shell will be as time goes on, we will see. The F01 feels much nicer obviously as it's Magnesium, and the switches sound and feel a bit different too
