Personal Reg Plates

Tempted to buy E11 LCR for £600.

(My name is Elliott, nickname is Ell)
Problem with plates like that is that they're tied to both you and the car. If you change cars it doesn't make sense and more and, although it'd look "cooler" than a standard plate, the value of it is diminished for anyone who buys the car off you.

None of this is necessarily a problem as long as you accept that it's probably £600 down the drain and you'll never recoup any of it.

I've thought of it... but I wouldn't want to spend a fortune on one.

For the mx5 - by using MXS (S looks a little like a 5, or it could mean mx sport I guess).

There's no point in using initials as no one will get it really - it's more fun if it has something to do with the vehicle. However if it's just a zany word that people will recognise or you can make it very personalised then of course it's more fun.

I did try and get W1LLL or W11LLL or W111LLL - but they didn't have it :(

For the bike you can't have YZF (they don'y like "Z") though I could have R600 YAM (it would be better if I had an R6 though ;)).

The DVLA site doesn't give you much choice :/

I want to get one for my car now, I am looking at a 51 reg plate ending with "UKE", so for example I am looking for FE5 1UKE, the spacing wont be as obvious as that I know. Looking around on the net its going to be around £1000 for anything ending with UKE on a 51 reg.

Tom.
There's another in Manchester with the plate C4BBIE (or v similar).

Best plate I've seen in the last couple of days was 1 JEDI, picture on my phone didn't come out though :(

Am looking for a decent GTO plate at the moment but they are all around £500 pre-J plate anyway.

There was a good one on here a few years back - XE51 ARO (check your mirrors:D )

well, everyone who knows me has called me Dax for 25 years (real name Darren), and was lucky enough to get "B9 DAX" for a 21st Birthday present (cost in the region of £350 if i recall)

Its great, i'll have it for the rest of my life, is completely unique to me, and is obviously me - and looks private whereas some of the 6 or 7 character ones look jammy that they got them.

Anyone know how to get in contact with the owner of a private number plate? I'm really after a suffix plate that may of been assigned to a car as a default number plate.

not sure, you know the exact plate you want?

Could maybe do a HPI check on it - would that give you the addy? Would probably need car details do one of tho...

My Mum has ** FUN on her car, came on the car, similar plates seem to be going for £1000 on the DVLA site :)

I've got my initials on my plate, £250 from the DVLA. :)

I really wanted "P155 OFF" :D

My friend has PF55OFF, its on his motorbike. Naturally the F is slightly illegally printed. :)
