Can you post the link to your option file then please?
Since it appears to be legal to ask for option files now, can anyone suggest the best option file for the PS3 platform? I did ask in the consoles forum but no one seemed bothered.

This legend mode is a little odd, having a decent first 1/2 of the season at a new club, recently started making 2nd half appearances for England but when i sign for Pompey i have to work my way onto the bench to get ahead of 2 English strikers who aren't in the national team. Odd, although whats even more odd is that it's Alan Smith who is England's first choice striker in a 4-5-1.
i play my house mate and he have a little league going, first to win ten games, so we play over the week as and when we can fit it in, and there is always a bit of money on it, when the cpu dives in and loses me a player to a red card or gives a pen it's enough to make you go nuts!
Its just one of the things in PES that makes you think "am I really in control here?" Shooting can be hit and miss when it comes to trying to direct it and the same can be said for passing. I'd love the next PES to be truly manual like Fifa 09.
Another point, has anyone been able to pull off any clearing headers using the long pass button? It seems that option is gone and when you try and head the ball now for long distance clearences, the power bar appears meaning the player waits for the ball to drop to use his feet rather than his head. Very annoying

i think the clearing header is now the shoot button?
i agree the shooting is so random, i find rounding the keeper far to easy with any half good speedy player, it can be done every time with someone like messi.
Anyone know if you can put after touch in your long shots?

Hmm... I wonder why i've never tried using the shoot button
I don't think you can add any swerve to normal shots, just corners and free kicks. Bare in mind every player has a 'swerve' stat in their attributes list which will effect the amount they put on every cross or free kick. If you unlock classic brazil, use Rivelino to cross the ball, the amount of swerve you on the ball is funny.
Taking free kicks depends on how far you are out.
Up and over technique (get the ball up and down fast if you just outside the area): Hold down L1+Down+Left/Right depending on which corner you need to put it in for the swerve. L1+Up is more powerful i think.
R1+Up/Down is for longer distance strikes - usually more about getting the power right rather than achieving lots of swerve. I usually just hold down L1+R1 then press pass which lets the ball run to one of the players standing over the ball to do something with it.
You can try chipping the ball in the box but this almost never works unless you have a nice angle near the corner flag and then the computer decides to move your players forward into good positions. Otherwise they tend to hover and make their runs late into the box which sounds good in theory but not when you can never get the ball to them in the right spot. Something which needs addressing for future games really as its been the same for years now

FK advice - closer ones where you'v got a fair bit of the goal unshielded by the wall.
Do a 2 man free kick, L1+pass+up+shoot, 2nd man pushes ball out for the first man to blast, works wonders since PES keepers are so ****, they will usually parry it in/to a poacher.

Given up on both master league and be a pro modes now and just play a couple games a week with my mate which can be fun although sometimes fun for the wrong reasons (keeper errors and some other flaws). Stuck the master league level on Hard which basically means its near on impossible to sign any players for your team even when they are at your popularity level (stupid name and system). Some other annoyances:
- Not only this but the search function doesn't work properly when you want to buy a player. i.e. you put in a value between 80-99 for shooting and then the matches appear with players outside those barries. Idiotic!
- For some strange reason you seem to be able to loan any player in the game very easily but you can only do this in the january window and not at the start of the season. Managed to loan Arbeloa (whos suprinsigly one of the best fullbacks in ML after 2 seasons) and Cheillini from Juventus straight away.
- Every team you face has far superior stamina to you (i used the default ML players but along with loaning proper players too with good stamina stats). You get to the end of a game and the CPU team has half a bar left and most of your players have about 10% of theirs.
- Still using points system since lord knows when. Can't they incorporate a money system for PES and keep the points system for the japanese market? They love that fantasy crap
- Player development is so unrealistic and spoils the game. Last PES you had Alan Smith being one of the best players in the game. The players stats only improve greatly if your team wins games.
- Cant change teams or receive offers from other teams to manage during your game.
- Terrible transfer system. No reasoning given to why your bid is rejected. Not only this but the swinging metre is pointless and is supposed to add to the tension of 'will he or wont he' join my team. It doesnt do that at all, just annoys me.
- You can only put in 5 bids per turn and you can only add some many players to your scout list per turn as well. Okay I can sort of see why they added this in but may be remove the scout list limit, thats just pointless.
- Dogs on the screen! Konami have some weird obsession with sticking little Yorkshire terriers at the bottom or top of the menu screen. WHY!! Don't get me started with the little still cut scenes at the top displaying your fans wearing ****** hats and crying their tears when you lose one game.

thrown my controller across the room and given up, had both of my centre backs sent off for tackles that were made while i was controlling a different player. absolutely ridiculous.
Its terrible isn't it. My mate stills prefer this over to Fifa after playing both but I struggle to see why. His explanation is because its too slow. I'd take a slow style to represent real life footy over the computer getting my players sent off and giving penalties away. It happens all the time

yup, very annoying, and i dont remember pes doing this in previous versions.. I wouldnt have minded so much but, the team i was playing against had their right back sent off, so i thought great, I'll take advantage of that flank, and as soon as i thought that, the damn cpu decided to throw a wobbly and even things up.. I may as well let the game play cpu v cpu if thats the ammount of controll i have over my team. anyway, rant over, ive spat my dummy and wont go back. (sulks
