Pet Rabbit killed :-(

Guys, im after a bit of help. Came home after work today, went in the back garden with my 4 year old daughter only to find her pet rabbit dead , and without going in to much detail all that was left was the body, no head and it looks like it was ripped off, also the front left leg is missing too. TBH the rabbit itself was quite a large rabbit for something to do this it must have been quite big, but im trying to find out what. I live in the city, in a terranced house with 6 foot fence panels all around the garden, the only things we every see in our garden are cats and the occasional small hawk, but are they capable of doing this?. The only other thing it could possible be is a fox or dog but i have found no traces of a struggle and why would the head be taken and nothing else? Any ideas????

My 4 year is absoultly gutted luckily she didn't see it close up.

Cheers for your help

traces of struggle lol, its a rabbit

Some of us value a pet higher than a ****ing crisp packet strangely enough:rolleyes:.

so what, i said how does a rabbit give traces of struggle..

read the post next time

a rabbit is better than crisps anyhow, tastes nice.

and i hardly value people's lives let alone pets FYI..

Well there would be lots of blood spread about along with bits of rabbit and fur, possibly fur from the attacking animal.

Why do you think a rabbit isn't capable of putting up a fight?

because its a rabbit, it just runs away if it can

And when it can't?

You think it just sits there with something teeth in it;'s flesh going "nice day for it!"

No it kicks (with a lot of strength, it has tendons specially designed for great force), bites, twists and struggles.

Rabbits can be vicious beggars when so inclined. Seeing as it was a fairly large rabbit, I reckon it could hold its own against a cat. Would have stood little chance against a fox though, and they're surprisingly common.

Im still trying to figure out how a fox managed to overcome the 6 foot high fence (assuming it was a fox which seems unlikely). Are foxes that trot about towns brandishing grappling hooks these days?

I'm just going to come out and say what we're all thinking...

This is clearly the works of an extremist muslim terrorist group, quick call the daily mail.

Same happened to our Rabbit.

unless the fence goes into the ground at every point, the fox would have just gone under it.

Sorry to hear about your loss. A cat is capable of doing this... I once saw my cat kill and drag a "Hare" down the road - It was quite a bit bigger than my cat!

Has their been a dodgy character in a silver 5-series lurking around recently ?

If so then definately Fox.

Otherwise maybe a bear or crocodile.

Sorry for your cutey bwunny wabbit :(
