EG6/EK4 SiR2, EK9, take your pick. All have better power/weight. This thread is getting seriously derailed now, so no more petty arguing from me, I'll never agree.

An EK9 will average 35mpg over mixed town/fast road driving? Really?

Better power to weight ratio sure but how much better most of the time given it develops 185bhp @ 9000rpm...

I have what numerous owners have told me, and that is good enough for me. I know 2 EK4 owners well, they drive hard and fast but still get good mileage. You don't think i'd be buying a car without doing my homework do you.

£1.50 a litre for diesel seems more and more likely at this rate, there seems to be no stopping the increases now!

I only do about 2000 miles a year so it's not hitting me as bad as I first thought it would, and i've managed to average 25 mpg out of my turbo soarer, albeit on V Power.

Is LPG increasing in price in line with the increase we're seeing in gas / diesel?

Was your Mondeo uprated. Ford only list them at 136BHP. Not trying to be predantic but tuning usually nails fuel economy.

Yeah - drove past petrol station on my way home.
Monday - 1.20 ltr (diesel)
Tuesday - 1.22
Wednesday - 1.24
Thursday - 1.26

Wtf is that all about or they just having a laff. My workmate getting annoyed now - his 9p/mile on his company golf not looking as good as he thought a couple of years ago.
