25mpg and it isn't even a performance car, ouch :/

When you don't drive a Colt 1.5, you can say that our 230bhp 155mph cars don't have performance. It's probably quicker to 100 than your beloved Hondas.

Until then you'll make yourself look daft. And as Simon said, economy and 'performance car' is not proportional.

Lotus Elise = very economical
Chrysler Voyager V6 = not very economical

jeez this place is worse than pub BS. Loowi get a life, believe it or not I couldn't give 2 ****s what you or anybody else here thinks.

And Fox, get your facts straight, it is not a performance car, the M5 is, and there is even the 540i between that and yours, so don't come over with your BMW attitude or 'RAWR 155MPHs!!!!!!! 230BHP I'M FAST' chat. Yeah it is faster than mine, but I never said it wasn't, and for the millionth time my car is not a 1.5 litre. Enjoy your 143bhp/tonne.

God if Eastenders fans heard about OCUK there would be no eastenders, this is far more entertaining!

He's awesome isn't he :D

And it's 150.3bhp/tonne, do get it right and stop using Parkers :p

With respect, there is no 'bmw attitude rawr' in here, merely me responding to you posting rubbish. As per usual.

Personally I'd even consider something like a slower 306 GTi-6 or perhaps a Vectra GSi as a performance car. It's far too subjective a measurement to be able to categorically state something is or isn't one. So stop making yourself look daft by trying.

Still no performance machine is it..

that is crazy.

We can have one room for Clarkey who thinks only cars which do 0-60 in 4 seconds have performance and one for everyone else who lives in the real world.

And Biohazard - I quite agree. Quite where Clarkeys rant came from simply after Olly said what he gets to a tank of fuel and how much it costs I don't know, but I guess I'm not suprised. I'm sure he can cool down a bit later by sitting in his 300ZX - he could perhaps make some brumm brumm noise to experience its performance.

0mpg or infinite mpg? I guess it depends on how you do the numbers :D

I don't think I ever started a rant, simply made a point that if I had a car that only returned 25mpg, i'd want it to be fast. Afterall I can run a ricey little honda that is faster and still does 35mpg. I'd sooner have performance than 'luxury' in a car.

I don't know where you plucked this 300zx crap from, maybe you have some kind of fantasy of me making brum brum noises in one. In reality however, it is parked too close to the colt for me to even open the door and even if I could it doesn't have a battery. Can't wait to swap it for a nice Honda rice-mobile tbh, but fwiw half motorway half town it will do 25mpg, has luxury and goes fast. Maybe you should get rid of that BM and buy it ;)

What Honda is faster than a 530i and does 35mpg?

To most people, a 155mph 5 Series is 'fast'. It's not properly fast, or wow fast, but it's reasonably fast.

I doubt you'd be getting 35mpg out of a quick Type R Honda if you used its performance - just as Olly returns 25mpg becuase he uses the performance of his 530i.

An S2000 for example is a good example of a Honda which will see off a 530i in all performance tests. However, it will also return MPG in the 20's...
