petrol prices

so far pumped in £50 this week, done just over 460 miles - mainly motorway though

usually add £15 a day to get me 155 mile roundtrip

but first day of the week, i usually put in £20 so i always have that extra few litres in reserve

should add - if i got a monthly train pass i would be paying over £300 a month

petrol usually equals £80 a week - so thats what £320 per month, so im saving - as id also still need to get to and park at the train station - plus have the extra inconvenience of another hours travel or so a day sat on a train.

£320 is £20 more than £300

He did say that there would be additional costs involved in getting to the station and paying for parking there.

All day parking at my station has gone from £2.50 to £5 in the last year.

All day parking at my station is £3, it's £4 to park at work. But the station next closest to me (4 miles, instead of 2miles) has free parking :)

At the moment, it's about £9 a day on the train, or in petrol.

yeah should have clarified, parking with add at least another £100, plus a 20 minute return journey by car each day - so public transport is not worth it at all....

£100 parking a day? ;)

What do you drive? A gold-plated rocking horse turd, guarded by royal cavalry?

heh - i wish

monthly i meant, its at least £4 per day..... just not worth it :(

plus a train journey adds on another 30 minutes each way (not including driving to and from station)
