Petrol tanker drivers to go on strike

There hasn't even been a strike yet, but the forecourts are running dry. If everyone just carried on as normal, there would be no shortages.

Yes the would, the reason the gov has advocated this panic buying is because its better to run the pumps dry stocking up while the tankers are rolling than for it to happen when the tanker drivers are on the picket line.

I saw no issues round my way this morn or last night. If anything roads are quieter. Maybe less people using fuel for unecessary trips.

Wish mine had a bigger tank, for a 1.25, it gets through 40 litres of fuel quick on the motorway :(

Filled it up before the madness began, but will probably have to fill up when the forecourts are all dry/full

So we should all put up with weeks of fuel shortages due to people with your attitdue panic buying the fuel when the strike hasn't even started yet?

That's more disruptive than the strike itself! Especially if we have to put up with this until the strike happens in what, mid April?

Where is the logic?

Really?

Oh.

All five petrol stations I rode past this morning were all coned off with "no fuel" signs up.

They all had 40+ car queues when I cycled past them last night.

Smug?

I have to drive Newcastle to Plymouth in about an hour, which isn't a problem, I have a full tank and people don't seem to be panic buying up here. Getting home on Sunday may be a different story, though.:p
