Petrol tanker drivers to go on strike

I actually hadn't heard anything about fuel shortages until I got home last night (I don't watch TV and I rarely read newspapers), so imagine my surprise when I went to fill up my car last night after work at 10pm, to find huge queues and what turned out to be a 25 minute wait to fill up.

I always get petrol at night after work, as I don't like having to wait behind mizz mom and her wagon filled to the brim with screaming, undisciplined brats, as she takes 10+ minutes to find the button to open up her fuel filler flap. No choice this time though.

I hope things get back to normal quickly, the rich hand-wringers are surely chafing their palms off right about now. I don't know who to hate more, the scaremongerers or scaremongerees.

An Eton educated man like David Cameron tells you to panic buy because he has had the basics of taking as much as he can for himself drummed into him from fertilisation.

Stupid messages coming from the government on this. If people just carried on as normal then there wouldn't be anywhere near the chaos at the pumps, even if the strikes do hit.

People aren't panic buying because Davey told them to. They're panic buying because they're reading the news about the strike.

He is only saying that so the media and people forget about his cash for tea at number 10 scandal.

I think it was a bad idea for me to choose this friday to run empty so i can drop my fuel tank to replace the fuel lines. I just have enought to make it to and from work tomorrow @ 60 miles round trip but im lazy to que so wont be refilling unless this thing blows over. good job i have a week off and only need to visit one place, the other halfs car is half full so can use that for the odd trip out.

Telford was busy tuesday morning, its empty now (as far as i can tell) so i take it they have bleed them dry.

I dont blame them, the only way to get anywhere in this country is greed so why not with petrol too.

I filled up on the way home from work, had to queue but not for too long, then about an hour later on the way to the gym the same station was closed, and the other two I saw had massive queues

What the PM has said is actually sensible and logical but has been taken out of context by pretty much everyone.

He is saying do not rush out and buy fuel immediatly, but next time you are filling up, if you normally stick a tenner in, consider brimming it instead.

In what way is that not sensible advice?

People with an axe to grind with the 'evil torys'

Oh.

Not saying the last government where any good but when there were blockades and the fuel 'really' was running out they were saying just bear with it, trucks are leaving the sites and we'll get through it.

This government "ARGGHHHH EVERYONE PANIC, WE'RE DOOMED AND ITS THOSE LORRY DRIVERS FAULT, EVERYONE PANIC AND WHEN YOU'RE HYSTERICAL REMEMBER ITS THOSE DRIVERS WHO ARE TO BLAME, NOT US. QUICK PANIC OVER SOMETHING AND HAVE THE PAPERS FILLED WITH MEANINGLESS NONSENSE WHILST WE DESTROY THE HEALTH SERVICE ON PAGE 7"

I can't get my axe sharp enough.
