PGA Tour 2K21

If it controls like pga 2 on megadrive id play it, if its a modern control with mouse moving to swing or some other way id pass. Tho i didnt mind tiger woods 06/07 ish on the xbox especially the cool perfect shots animation scenes they were fun.

None of the other 3 games have had the 3 click system, which is good as it’s terrible and takes zero skill.

It’s hardly obnoxious, just takes time to learn it.

Haha, you guy's should try their VR effort. You'll quickly learn that if your not competent as a golfer, you'll be swinging 100 yards off the tee.

It's a shame they did it as a one and done effort, the PGA licence and some multi in 2k21 would be massive. It's a different audience but actual motion golf is a lot of fun, I mean 3 clicks is what 35 years ago.

needs a fleshed out career, proper character attributes upgradable via an XP system, proper clubs, balls, public lobbies, daily tournaments oh and bloody backspin. We not had a golf game like that since Tiger Woods many years ago though. I fancy it'll be a light upgrade over what we got, no one wants to put loads of effort into making anything the best anymore, it's just a case of a new game with a new number next to it to make some coin.

I can't remember how HB Studios did this series, but isn't it better to not have upgradable characters attributes where someone who plays more than someone else can have an edge? It should be everyone is on a level playing field and the only attributes to winning are a players skill with their device (obviously there's going to be cheaters but you can't do anything about that).

I play Links 2003, amazing game and zero upgrading of anything. The only factor to winning is being better at the game.

Maybe in SP career only but then they'd have to make your SP golfer not accessable online so it's even field.

I like having unique golfers, everyone might be set up differently. Power, accuracy, putting, short game, recovery etc. Plus, it adds to the depth of the game and a reason to play the single player. I also enjoy earning equipments upgrades, new clothing items etc. I just think golf games have become all to lazy. In this day and age surely someone could try and make an incredible golf game with layers of depth instead of the same old churned out simple structure with the next number tagged on for a roster upgrade. No one even tries to be imaginative in the genre anymore.

God please no skill upgrades or unlocks please this isnt cod or a rpg its a golf game you pick a char that isnt based on skill just visual looks and a name and bio if you have to and play and win by ur swing skills etc only i hope. Like the best ever golf game pga 2 on megadrive. Just new gfx.

Hmm vid says microtransactions and unlocks so thats a fat no from me. I buy full games without any of that stuff these days even if its just cosmetics.

That music, the simple but effective gameplay. Magic.

I've been playing golf games for 30 years, I've been up there with the best at quite a few and I'm an absolute purist when it comes to the modes I play and competition I play against. But that still doesn't mean I don't want things in a golf game to keep me coming back and wanting to play more. I find the modern golf game so boring, they have no meat to them. Its not good enough to put a new year number on a title for me with a few overnight improvements added. I adore golf games but they are so easy and bare these days.

And don't use the argument of " look at Links 2003" or "look at PGA Leaderboard Golf" being as simple as anything and still being the greatest golf games. These are different times, we have technology far greater than those simpler times. Of late we've had golf games that can't even be bothered to show you the other player playing their shot, we've had no in game text or voice chat, hell they can't even design a golf ball with backspin physics. No public lobbies, very little in the way of online Leaderboards, so much so that it takes people to go and start sites like TGC to get a proper tour going. It just stinks of pure laziness.

I guess it could be cool to have that for single player career mode only. Not for online societies / multiplayer though.

@TonyTurbo78 well neither of us has argued that the HB Studios games are a little bare, I fully agree with that. More options would be welcomed and the game survives on user created courses. I'd love to see a fully fledged out career where you can get sponsors and use prize money on buying cosmetic in-game items.

What we are saying is that it doesn't require upgradable stats. The games difficulty should adapt to how you play, to make the game more challenging with lower scores to beat the better you play. Online you'd have to be better than the rest to top the leaderboard, not because you you have upgraded all your power stats and can hit the ball furthest.

They could have slightly different stats for clubs which perform slightly differently to each other that you can maybe buy in the career store with your prize money, but they need to all be unlocked and available to everyone when playing online.

Hopefully they leave online alone, it's bad enough we have x3 club sets in societies, they need to make the playing field level not even more disjointed.
