*** Phanteks EVOLV Owners Thread ***

Well I found my first fault with the case... The X99A Titanium won't fit in it :(

According to the Phanteks the Mobo can be up to 264mm wide and the X99A Titanium is 272mm.

That's the same problem I had with the Rampage V ED10, so its changed for the X99 Strix. :(

i have a evga micro 2 x99, almost went for the rampage ed10,someone has fitted one in a evolv case, but had to mod the back cover of mobo and insulate back of motherboard ...def not doing that..maybe if phanteks do a version 2.0 might fix this, and also fix the top of the case for more venting for a radiator, otherwise its a great case:D

Has anyone modded the front panel of one of these? Tried gaming today with the panel off and all component temps dropped by 10c at least. So I was wondering if some form of pattern cut into the front panel that is both aesthetically pleasing but also allows air through might be a nice mod to try.

I still need to try it with the dust filter removed and the front panel in place as the raised sides in the dust panel limit air flow so i will see if there is any difference if I replace the dust filter with a demciflex 360mm filter as it is much thinner.

I recently upgraded my build for the first time and bought a Phanteks Evolv ATX, coming from a NZXT Phantom 530.

The case is a massive improvement from the Phantom, however after completing my new build I cannot get the case fans to spin. I have plugged the 4 Pin connector from the PWM Hub into a SYSFAN header on my motherboard, and the SATA power cable into the PSU but still cannot get them to spin. I have tried powering the fans only using the SATA power cable and unplugging the 4 pin connector but that still does not work.

I have a NZXT Kraken X60, and have both of the fans from that plugged into CPUFAN headers on the motherboard.

Sorry for the noob question, I am not a very experienced builder!

Try to take off front panel and at the back of it you can put screw nuts as spacers between the two brackets and the panel. It will move the front panel a bit forward making more access for air to get in.

Dshalky+Artery>I was wondering you guys could help I am looking to watercool thge evolv and would really like to pout the rad in the top how did you guys manage this I was under the impression it would need heavy modification to do this and Dshalky I really like what you did with the top was that done by you or a specialist company. Thanks

Going by the roll of honour in the op I'll be the first one who's got the itx version. Unless it hasn't been updated, I would love to see any of you guys with an itx to post some pics.

@GoRedwings19 ......the evolv has a tray at top to fit a radiator, easy to fit ,pull out tray and slide back in with radiator fitted,so easy to use,i modded the top myself,i have a thick 360 ek radiator, you could use a slim one.i found the caselid needed more vents for the rad.

Hey dshalky>Yeah I have seen the tray and I am using an Ek PE 360 rad or hope to. But I feel by using the tray it looks even more cramped than what it is already is so I would like to maybe copy your idea.

So If you are using a thick rad then you cut out the support beams at the top of the cage? Would you mid terribly if you could show me so I can get an idea of what I would be able to work with if I modded my case like yours?

Also are there any companies that would be able to help me mod the top panel for me as I am really bad with DIY.

I gather your plan is to have it so the fans aren't on show? You need to get your rad on the tray and work out where the fans will go, then drill holes big enough to fit a screwdriver through to fit the fans in. You'll also need to cut off a strut or 2 with a dremel and also flatten out the tray as it's lipped.

There's an example somewhere on the internet, I can have a look when I get back home and I'll pm you.

Artery>Yes I think you understand what I am getting at. I don;t mind the fans being on show but my biggest gripe with the case ( I have the TG version) is while I love teh case the top bit for placement of radiators is a more of a design oversight rather than a help.

It just looks to crowded with the a radiator mounted to the tray and then fans underneath it.

I currently have a 5930k setup in it but I also have another setup (i6700k) to start building and as much as I really like the case I have seen some other setup and with two triple rads in there it just put me off. With your help or any tips that I could lessen the clutter I would get another no problem...unless the phanteks enthoo elite was released;)
