** PHANTEKS EVOLV X - CAN'T STOP EVOLUTION **

@HoneyBadger know what you mean mate. Been building PCs since the early 90s and the case was ludicrously easy to build in, keep tidy and looks great.

Just a question folks - Looking to vertically mount my GPU, but appears to be two options in the low profile and Bracket + cable. Anyone know if the bracket is actually required? Seems overkill as there is one on the case already?

The bracket/cable is aimed at people wanting to add vertical GPU functionality to their existing case, you will just need the 220mm cable.

Looks great. I’d want the mATX version myself but good to see things are moving along and the airflow has been improved.

There aren’t enough manufacturers making gunmetal grey cases. Looks so much better than black.

I do however have an issue with this case - While the cable covers enable you to mount SSDs, I don't feel that SATA cables are appropriate to use. The straight ones fit, but when closing the covers it's putting pressure on the drives connector - which is asking for it to be damaged. You also can't use 90deg ones as they're going the wrong way. I feel it needs either:

a. Central sata adapter
b. 90deg adapter but doing up not down

That way, you're releasing the pressure on the drives connector. The left hand cover is worse than the bottom.

@ChugNorris This may be useful info for Phanteks in regards to future designs :)

I think HardwareCanucks noticed this as well and said you needed to tuck the cables right into the corner before shutting the covers. I don't know how much or little that helps but it was something they pointed out in their video of the case.

Well I have replaced my old 550D corsair case with the black Evolv X and I have to say what an absolute pleasure to build a new system in.

My last new full system build would have been maybe five years ago (two children slow the upgrade cycle somewhat) and I know cases as a whole have come a very long way in that time, but this really did fell so good to build in. I am not a huge RBG fan (........) but i have certainly been converted.
