Phillip Schofield comes out as gay

You see this is part of the problem. People are having a laugh and other people get offended by it because the subject is someone who is gay.

What about when a footballer misses a sitter or smacks it 20 foot over the bar from 10 foot out. You get the videos cut of it leaving the atmosphere and hitting something in space. Its a joke, get over it. Far too many people in the world have lost their sense of humour when it comes to any group that is considered victimised. Most of these things aren't done to be nasty, they are done for a laugh. What if it was a gay man making the jokes? Is that still homophobic.

Maybe we need to push the reset button and stop being judge, jury and executioner whenever anyone says something we can take out of context and become offended by.

I like you. Not in a Philip Schofield way tho.

The only srurpise for me is that he wasn't out already. I had no idea he was married. Big news for his wife and family but very much in the don't care pile for me.

Way to many people don't understand humour now, or will take things totally out of context. Just carry on and let them get offended tbh, what are they gonna do.

Telling someone that they shouldn't be offended when you laugh at them is a bit like punching someone in the arm and telling them that it didn't hurt.

Take their word for it, they know if it was offensive or not.

A lot of people say they are offended because thats how they think they should react. Have a look on social media. If someone types some bad news and others comment its like reading robotic replies as everyone is saying nearly the same thing. There isn't much thought gone in to it, and probably most couldnt give a flying cow about the subject. It's politically correct madness.

If someone can't laugh then they cry. The people who are offended when its not a direct joke about them personally, need to learn how to defend themselves verbally. If someone makes a joke about being gay, its about being gay, not them personally.

Do you think gay people never tell offensive jokes to other gay people?

Which is why they get referred to as "NPCs" :D

Recently, they all received the climate change and vegan update.

Wasn't surprised by him coming out. Do believe those closest to him must have known. Non issue to me, don't see the justification for it to be on front pages of newspapers TBH.

You’d think working with Holly what’s her puss would be enough to turn even the gayest man straight.

LOOL.

Since when do media need to justify headlines ? It's a headline because lots of people DO care despite certain posters claiming otherwise. If no one cared the media wouldn't have it front page, they know their audiences... they're not stupid.

20 page thread here, 4000+ comments on the daily mail article, number 1 trending topic on UK twitter

That's not the sign of no one caring. Household name comes out as gay = big news and i imagine this will be the case for a long time to come.
