phoned in sick...went to a festival...got caught...can I get sacked ?

to cut a long story short I was half cut and ended up speaking to my boss on the phone and told him I was at T in the Park
I have been told I will have to attend a disciplinary hearing, I have had a verbal warning before for time keeping and attendance which will still be on my file

will it have to go on to a written warning now or is it classed as being serious enough that they can just sack me straight away ?

depends on your companies poilicies I would think and how compasionate your boss is willing to be.

I guess that is what you get for being a clown.......
 
Not any help at all here.... but, let me get this straight, you were off your face at a festival and rang your boss and told him you were there without thinking?
 
Lying, then getting wasted, then calling said boss specifically to reveal said lie is even worse. I would be surprised if he kept his job. I wonder what went through the boss' mind at the time?
 
Together with your "verbal warning before for time keeping", you're unreliable and can't be trusted.

Expect your P45.
 
Its usually verbal, two written warnings then the door, but I would say this amounts to gross misconduct which is cheerio.
