I want to know why my sig was removed which had a link to just my flickr and 500px account with the "check faq for promoting business" stance. Tonnes of people on here sell photos and have links to their personal
websites for weddings etc, plus flickr and its alternatives.

I didnt even watermark my images for use on here due to one of the other rules about promotion but this is just too far imo. Might as well remove everyones signatures or ban everyone that links from eithet site to this forum whilst you are at it!

I had seen your sig earlier and couldn't understand why it had been removed either. I have to agree that even though you'd said in another thread that you'd sold a few photos via 500px that it doesn't promote business anywhere near as much as someone who links directly to their own personal websites where business could be gained. Think it's a rather strange take by the mods on this one.

Theres loads of people on here who sell images though and not just from websites such as 500px. Flickr is a route to getty images for a start so anything thats linked from that could be potentially up for sale anyway. Nice to see that a mod changed my signature again instead of contacting me with a reason for why it was actually changed and why I'm looking like an exception to the rule :S

Edit: Sent thundycat an email asking for clarification of the rules as there isn't just me who uses 500px and flickr, especially to link from in the many image threads on this sub forum and even general discussion.

Edit 2: Still no clarification after over a week :S

i am just getting into photography and i bought a d3100 last month,i am not sure if this is the right place to post this but i basically i picked up a camera for £1 today and not sure if its just rubbish or its actually worth keeping a hold of and learning how to use it.
