kitch9, do you remember the post you wrote on this thread
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=16260729#post16260729

Forget about that one then?

Yeah, I said I tested it earlier in the thread, it looks like it works but it doesn't. It took me a few days to figure out why Metro 2033 was crawling in some spots. Physxinfo and Containforum themselves now say to use 196.34's and Physx SS .222 as the fix has been found to be flawed..... Am I speaking a foreign language? Is it THAT hard to understand? READ PHYSXINFO FFS!!!!

I will work, but not in Metro 2033 where the Physx will slow the game to a crawl in some areas. Performance with the the 196.34's and .222 will be much higher, but do what you want I'm only trying to help.

Feel free to ask GenL, the author of the Physx mod in this thread if you do not believe me. I'd tend to believe him over some random guy on a forum how obviously struggles to comprehend plain english TBH.

I tried metro2033 with the 197 method and the 196 method, couldnt detect any difference in framerate in the smoke heavy room at the very start which I guess is using Physx

Consindering Nvidia's obvious intent to stop it working by all means necessary its madness to buy a card to try it with. If you have an old Nvidia card after an upgrade and want to try till it breaks, thats fine enough, but buying a card for something that could get disabled any time is utter madness to be honest.

The thing is when they first started it, they just did it in a new set of drivers, which was fairly easy to beat, but as new games come out that actually require a new set of specific physx drivers also, you'll find more games that bug out and won't work and eventually Nvidia will work through everything in the fix, which they obviously know about and find a way to stop the fix working in a future physx driver set.

Just shows how daft Nvidia are, considering the lack of cards available in the high end they could at least sell a physx/low end gpu to a bunch of 5850/5870/5970 buyers, instead they put 99% of those who might actually buy an extra Nvidia card completely off bothering.

Easy to do, it will take about 5 mins and away you go. You can get info and files here.

Note, you should stick with the 196.21 drivers just now until they make a proper fix for the new drivers.
Proper fix is done......

No extended desktop needed or anything with the latest 197.15 drivers. Tested it myself.'

Yes, using 1.01 then 1.02 applied on top of 1.01.

'While this can’t be a proper solution for newer versions of PhysX SS, i’m surprised it worked for people'

As he said he is suprised it is working for some(like me), if it wasn't working he would not have said it wasn't working.

Are you still right? I'm afraid not.

Sure if you wan't guaranteed working physx then use the use the 196.34's.
But as i found out to my benefit, there is no harm trying to get the 197.13's to work. If they don't then fall back to the 196.34's.

I don't think you understand that some people are having positive results.

I'd tend to believe him over some random guy on a forum how obviously struggles to comprehend plain english TBH.
Me, you, them are all random guys on forums!

Get over it kitch9 m8.
