Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

sorry never seen your post! got it from the chippy shop on the bay.

I got the 2 x 960mm, its on offer (has been for ages) and so is the 2m x 620. the 620mm for me personally is not enough depth and for the price of the 960mm I thought if it was too much I would just cut some off, but it turns out perfect for my needs, it depends how much space you have :).

Cheers dude appreciated. :D

Looking on the ikea website, they have these which is the perfect width for my study (room is 2m wide), and £50 cheaper and looks like it's already treated (although Ive a huge tub of Osmo left from my recent house renovation.

What are you using to secure it to the ALEX drawers? for the sake of being easily taken apart I'm debating just getting rubber grips and placing them on top of the drawers, and screwing in one of the signum cable tidies from ikea to the back of the board.

A tidy desk is a tidy mind.

Sometimes true; however currently at work I'm constantly designing work centred around South East Asian conservation. My desk has been crammed with various items from the region (Jakarta Newspaper, tins of food, Javan dragon kites, orang-utan postcards, drums of palm oil bio-diesel, a variety of authentic looking polystyrene and feather/bark songbirds, etc) to provide me with inspiration. A clean desk would have been useless!

the draws are made as desk stands so they come with rubber grips to be able to put a surface on top, I have not got mind screwed on, it doesnt move or warp. check out desk thread in case section for more info here :)

New desk, very messy cables at the moment, I'm going to cut some holes in the back soon. The desk is actually 3.8meters long but you can only see a little bit. I have big plans for this desk. :p

Images over 1,280 pixels wide should be placed in spoiler tags as I've done for you.

Cheers

Surveyor

edit: okay thanks Surveyor. ^^

How do you use "bookcase speakers" with a PC? I assume there is some kind of amp hidden away that converts the 3.5mm connection to the black and red power and sound (I guess it is?) hi-fi connection?

So could I buy any old amp/converter and use my speakers I got with my old mini/midi hi fi?

They are Edifier R1600ts, amp is built into the right speaker with volume and tone control, there are quite a few you can get like that.

You could use an amp with old speakers though yes.
