Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

I use those stick on cable tidies you can get in packs for front facing cables on the desktop, keeps things neat and organised, a closer look:

The desk has built in cable guides on the underside though so they are in place there.

It's not so much behind or under the desk so much as all the leads come up to the hub, which needs to be accessible so I can switch things on or off on it as some devices are a bit temperamental when everything is switched on.

Just trawling through the thread looking for ideas for my son's room which I'm going to be doing up in the coming months; and as inspiration to myself to get my own desk tidied up.

Once things that I always struggle with is the need for so many USB leads everywhere for all sorts of different devices. How do people deal with them and keep them tidy?

Right now in my setup I have USB for:

Keyboard
Mouse (it's a wireless model but the battery life is annoying so I keep it wired.
Stream Deck mini
Webcam
Microphone
Audio mixer (well technically it's a midi controller (x-touch mini) but it's used for audio mixing)
Dongle for my 8bitdo controller
Blynclight

I've got a powered USB hub so I can keep stuff plugged in etc but it's hard to get it tidy looking.
I attached the hub for my KVM switch to the back/bottom of my desk. You can see it glued bottom left:

I can then access it nice and easily from the cable tray:

(you can see it peak out bottom left).

And to get SUPER lazy, where I've found stuff needs a reboot quite often (Sonos gear  but also my AppleTV) I am using spare WiFi Smart Plugs. I wouldn't buy them if I didn't have them already for this instance.

What LED strip light did you choose?

I need some new ones and ideally usb powered. That way it will come on when I turn on the computer.

These are 7 years old no-brand and on their last legs (they only do red, lol). I'll probably replace with the Govee ones though. I found the USB on this didn't work well, as they draw so little power they were just always on.

I only have some white LED ones, plugged straight into a USB hub that has an on/off switch that I have to manually turn on/off.

So, Govee huh? it's been a while since I bought any LED lights, like over 10 years since I got some Philips Hue for my TV....no idea where that gone when I took it off.

Yeah it's good stuff. Not as responsive as Hue so I wouldn't use them for anything serious, but I've got their string lights (all individually addressable) and the TV backlight thing they do. The TV thing is cool, it uses a camera to make your TV into an ambilight.

The gu10s I have in the soffits of my garden room just on timer.

The kitchen units one is an led strip. Works well and it's all so cheap.

It has lots of fun features that may distract you for a minute or two - can do light that follows sounds, effects etc

I know they come in 5m or 10m etc, how do you cut them to size? do you then need multiple power "points" ?

OcUK sent a chair (ThunderX3 Flex Pro) for review, comparing it to a Chinese competitor (Doro C300 Pro), but I like it so far with only a couple of niggles, anyway here is the setup, nice hangers on the back for stuff

That is a really nice looking chair but probably out of my price range.

What are the niggles mrk?

How's the adjustability and comfort? Been eyeing up a few chairs recently.

Looks very similar to my Sihoo chair.

The doro is the sihoo I-have too, they are similar in design yeah but the Flex has a much better backrest that's more ergonomically focused with automatic adjustments and fine tuning.

It's very comfortable I have to say, the backrest especially so thanks to the auto adjusting lower back bit. The adjustment of tension on the reclining is also nice, can gently slouch back and it just glides back to rest without having to put effort in etc.

The thing I don't like is that the arm rests are a bit high even on the lowest height setting by about half an inch so when I tuck myself into my desk and working upright, the armrests bang against my desk edge as they are not low enough to slide under the desk which is how my old ThunderX3 chair would operate nicely. To work around this I need to use thick washers on the bolts that attach the arm rests to add the extra gap.

The other is that whilst the legs, whilst nice, are sharper than I would like on the very ends, which means stubbing my toes on them could be an issue :o

Otherwise the rest is quite great really I have to say and there is plenty of adjustment for all of the important areas. I'm liking the mesh too, first time using a mesh chair with these two. No more hotspots :D
