Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

What size wood worktops have people ordered? My current desk is 760mm x 1500mm x 27mm

I dont want to go for 620mm as its just too small and was wondering which to go for

720mm vs 960mm (would 960 be too big for a computer desk?)

40mm vs 27mm (my current desk is 27mm but I wonder if 40mm would be nicer or too thick?)

Thick and deep is the way to go ;).

Mine is 900mm deep and 40mm thick. Lots of desk space, distance from screen, and looks quality rather than skimpy thin cuts.

Changed from a 32" 1080p to a 3440 x 1440 ultrawide monitor, such a difference :)

Also used a holesaw to drill a hole through the desk to hide the keyboard cable.

Looks ace. :)

I bought a 34" but 1080 and as you mention, I was left underwhelmed. Wish I had gone for the 3440 resolution. An expensive mistake.

Just out of interest, what is the little USB hub you have fitted to the Alex unit on the left - I have one temporarily stuck to the underside of my worktop, the solution you have looks much smarter.

I'm also wondering what the black line following the edge of the ALEX below the hub is. And what that soundbar is.

Thanks :)

It's just an Anker 5 port USB charger stuck onto the drawer unit using double sided sticky pads.

Soundbar is the Creative Stage 2.1 and the black line you see is the edge of the subwoofer that comes with the soundbar.

Checking on the site you can get a custom cut to 800mm for £13.50

Couple of questions:-

1. Do you have any edge profiles? Or is it square edge on all 4 sides?

2. How about edge finishing on each side?

What do the black panels/fins on the wall do?

As mentioned, the absorb sound and reduce echo. Behind me, there are about another 16 panels, so about 30 panels in total. Makes a hell of a difference. When I record audio for presentations or training now, it just sounds really crisp, whereas before I had to apply loads of filters and processing to the audio to make it sound better. Definitely recommend them if you're in a room similar to mine
