LOL. Wow. Once I had let my eyes adjust to the colour I had to go across to the other side of the room to view that properly.Sorry the picture is huge xD
If you are handy, and have the tools, maybe this is a solution ? Although, in your case I guess you only be needing the USB-C cable instead of all of them ?I really need a way to dock the laptop (without spending a fortune). My Q27q monitor is USB-C for everything including laptop power. Makes using this setup like being in the dark ages having to connect USB, power and HDMI separately.
I am a huge fan of how OTT that is.If you are handy, and have the tools, maybe this is a solution ? Although, in your case I guess you only be needing the USB-C cable instead of all of them ?
DIY wall-mounted LAPTOP DOCK (neat, tidy, elegant)
You can get handy splitters which are USB-C to one USB3 and one HDMI, with a PD input. Quite handy when combined with a USB hub so maybe would work for you as a single-plug solution?I am a huge fan of how OTT that is.
My added complication is that I use my mouse/keyboard for my desktop, so I would need a KVM too. So maybe I am better off with a simple USB-C to HDMI/USB 'dock' + KVM; then my routine would be to simply plug charger and USB in...

My upstairs setup is awesome (but doesn't have a KVM requirement) - 1 USB-C cable from my Lenovo Q27q literally brings laptop charging power, USB (webcam/mouse/keyboard) and video output. Is a kvm not a solution?
I might be missing a step I don't use the usbc on my monitor?
I use a 4 way 4k kvm for mine
I get myself confused on the PD stuff. I guess they come with a power brick to force the power down and my charger is not required? You can get handy splitters which are USB-C to one USB3 and one HDMI, with a PD input. You're right on the downstairs setup: KVM probably the easiest setup and then I plug my charger in separately.

Google says there is, even an official Dell one!Is there a barrel connector to USB-C?
Sure let me get on this via my phone and will dig up a recent photo. I do need a good wire management system however.Go for it! lets see
