Man of Honour
Don’t normally have the lighting on this time of day, but it’s so dark and gloomy outside with the good old British summer weather
Love the ergo monitor - I’m very tempted to get one
I personally wouldn't...the stand is rather naff. I only bought it really for the stand but it's very limited. As you can see, to have the arm in the position it's in, the wiring has to be slightly on show, if I try and twist the stand to hide it, I can't have the monitor facing me straight on. It's all very frustrating. Also, the arm coming off the stand is extremely short, it doesn't allow much flexibility at all
The monitor itself is great, but if you're buying for the stand, I'd personally buy a monitor you like then buy a third party monitor arm
Thankyou
Why do these things have such short leads on them lol, just installed a sit stand desk and not sure that lead will be long enough, will scout the rest of their range in the hope of finding one longer
I've just moved so need to re-visit my desk set up!
1) What Worktops are people using with their Alex drawers?
I really want a 200x80cm but that seems to be a size that doesn't exist in stuff that isn't hollow (i have a dual monitor arm that clamps so the cheap ikea desks literally collapse if you try that).

This looks great except I want deeper really!

This looks good but might be too deep (wonder if they'd cut it down?). Also, not sure how strong it would be? Would i need to brace it with some angle irons if i didn't want a middle leg?
What you need to look for is kitchen island work tops as these are slightly deeper for what you might want but expect to pay more. I ended up going for a kitchen custom worktop for my office desk as all the ones I looked online was too shallow. If you dont want to spend huge amounts on a desk then the IKEA ones are the best bang for your buck.

Sorry 2nd link was meant to be to a b&q breakfast bar. Probably too cheap really...might need to get a solid wood one for 3-400 quid
Add a few more £100s to that price and you'll have your perfect length desk.

I got mine cut and delivered and this was one of the cheapest one I could find and made to my size.
If you find something chances it needs cutting to and if you got the tools and space then great.
Tung (sp) oiled my one about...13 years ago. Was heavily used but only extremely light use in the last 9. Works absolutely brilliantly.Do you oil them like you would a kitchen top or use a varnish type thing?
Hmm, these guys have 40mm solid walnut in 2m X 720mm (which I'd live with depth wise) for £250:

Might order some samples...
