[PIC_THREAD] Landscapes, Architecture, Seascapes

I'm hoping to get something this weekend, other than drunk :D (I make no promises though :D)

Also, your sig is bugging me now. Missing car image is evil. Right click on properties and you get a garbled page of code relating to rotate2.php. Stop it :(

2 from Iceland, Im still learning B+W so I don't really know if these are ok.

Just noticed the first one is a bit noisy, ill have to tone that down a bit.

I like them :) One little suggestion would be to bring back some detail in the darkest areas, but other than that, keep working on the B&W, it's a wonderful medium :)

My first attempt using an ND filter to get that smooth water look.

This was with CPL and ND8 attached, f22, and still best I managed was 2 seconds. Should have stacked the ND on top too I think.

Anyway, I think this are would look more interesting at night, so really should go down there with tripod after dark.

Yeah it was a tough decision on what to do since the perspective is a bit off. The view here is not completely perpendicular to the shoreline on the island that you can see which makes it look slightly wonky. I could have made that line horizontal but that would have made the ground on the path look like it was sloping to the right lol.

As far as colours, this is actually a HDR so maybe I was a little too restrained with the vibrance and saturation? My monitor isn't calibrated either so maybe it just looks brighter on mine lol

This was the view looking more north east rather than north west as above. Colours are a lot more subtle as the sunset is off to the left.

Here's a link to where it was on google maps. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=46.87756,-70.907822&spn=0.200652,0.528374&t=m&z=12

You know I actually like that crop version there :D I guess the colours were really a minor thing, at some point during sunrise/set the colours do look flat anyway so it does work either way :)
