Visited Southport Airshow yesterday and learned that I really need a monopod. However, still managed to get a couple of decent shots, even though I was hand-holding a Sigma 150-600mm all day in the cold. This made it ridiculously hard to get a clean shot of the prop aircraft because the shivering was exacerbated about a million fold by the 600mm.

He has a fantastic portfolio. We went to an exhibition of his a few years back and I met him there. Nice chap, and not scared of having an opinion about F1. Also normally engages via Twitter too @F1Photographer.

A few from the first F1 test in Barcelona last week. This is an annual trip for me, and pretty much the only time now that I've been using my D750. My previous longer lens broke during last year's test, so I picked up a fairly cheap 70-300 ahead of this test. I think I'm pretty close to getting rid of the D750 and my RX100 IV, as soon as something comes out that combines the two and also does decent video.

A quick phone snap taken yesterday at Wales Rally GB, SS6 Slate Mountain. There was so much liquid sunshine that I didn't take a camera.

John Wink and Jane Nicol share some banter as John patches up his Hyundai i20 R5.

Nice one, we have them come through town each year - Friday and this morning this year.

Cheers. Yes, I'm sure that's quite a sight. I've seen a couple of videos of the battered and filthy cars leaving the stage through the village. Raises a few eyebrows that's for sure!

The rally village is 20 minutes down the road from me but not been this year. Did go and watch the cars on their way to the first stage on Friday morning. The fan cars are better entertainment - one year a pair of hoonigans in a Manta did a couple of sideways laps of a roundabout for us.

I saw the Friday morning stage, it was a complete pea-souper, lol. Yes, you can count on the fans for entertainment. This year I saw a pristine, fresh Scoob with all the trimmings gingerly picking it's way through a gnarly track get completely trounced by a battered and filthy old mini to roars of laughter. :D

Here are those clips of the cars leaving Blaenau (SS5/6 Slate Mountain).

"Unroadworthy? Whatever do you mean, Officer?"

Love the Skoda using his indicator atathe junction. :D
