Picked up a LG OLED55B6V

It's an upgrade but it's not £600 odd worth of upgrade. I was lucky and got a good deal having my KS refunded.

The KS is a great TV and if you have a good one I would stick with it at least for this year until the newer HDMi 2.1 sets come along....

I've got the B6V :) I looked at the KS7000 at the time and did wonder if the OLED was worth the extra. At the time, I think the KS7000 was £1K and we paid £2K for the OLED. Extremely happy with our OLED but I think they constitute poor value for money. But hey, so does a Lamborghini!

Ah fair enough I was lucky and got my full £1300 back I paid for the KS 7 months ago. So it only cost me £200 to swap to the B6. I would not have paid £1k extra for one which I why I returned the first. It's better in a lot of respects but still lacking in others. HDR was more impressive on the KS especially in games like Horizon 2 but the depth of colours is better in n the B6....

Tbh next year if they can get the OLEDS up over 1k nits without major issue with variable refresh is definitely going to be the time to buy. If they are not stupid money that is......

That is a decent deal! It's the colours on an OLED, nothing gets close, it's hard to explain unless you've watched decent quality content on two panels and can directly compare them. We fell in love with the webOS as well, got a 49UH770V for the bedroom. Picture is good enough but not a patch on the OLED. Having all the smart functions is superb though.

I've got my B6V doing audio via ARC to an Onkyo putting out 5.1. I have forfeited HD audio for convenience and I can only notice a difference on certain movies, for 95% of viewing it's perfect.

Damn, some of you have got a really good price on this TV! I paid 2K back in November, worth every penny though! I've noticed that it really breathes new life into old films. Was watching The Battle of Britian (1969) last weekend, it was almost like a new film, I've seen it loads of times but never quite like I did on the OLED. Next film to watch is Saving Private Ryan, hoping it will be another strong performer.

What settings are you guys using for HDR? I feel I've got Dark Room nailed but can't seem to get HDR quite right. Watching La La Land in lossless UHD HDR (**** film but scores very highly in reviews for image quality) and I'm not blown away by the image quality.

Does SkyQ offer HDR? Just because it's UHD it doesn't mean it's HDR. Try The Grand Tour on Amazon, make sure it's the UHD version. The TV should go into HDR mode. In the unlikely event that it doesn't, you might have a problem.

I read review and it said 1080 was poorly upscaled. Also it said the web os got laggy when viewing 4K.

I like the bluetooth option, although my B6 lipsynchs via my bluetooth speaker.

Why are there so.many buggy tvs out there?!?!

I read the reviews and they were middling, at best. However, once I got the TV and set it up, I was very impressed with it. Does it compete with the OLED downstairs? No, it's a fraction of the price. But for a TV in the bedroom, it's perfect. The OS does not lag and feels practically the same as the OLED. It's even got wireless .ac so has no problem streaming any high bit rate content. The sound is decent for some TV speakers as well. I feel it's a really under rated TV.

Thanks!

I do like the bluetooth and usb 3.0. the new 43 inch range don't include this and I want to use my Riva bluetooth speaker with it.

How are the blacks vs oled when the room is dark?

Is there an option to stop 4k upscaling?

The blacks, simply put, are crap compared to an OLED, pretty much most TVs are though :D. I think the overall quality of the image is very decent it just hasn't got the impact and colour pop of an OLED. At the end of the day though, we are comparing a TV that costs 1/3 of an OLED. I don't know if there is an option to disable the upscaling. I can post a short video to Youtube tonight so you can see what it's like if that would help?

That is very disappointing! We moved last year and our 55" TV looks puny so we are eyeing up a 65" TV. I was tempted by the B8 but figured HDMI 2.1 was worth waiting for as we are by no means desperate. The problem is, the B6 is an extremely good TV so the C9 has to be exceptional across the board to be a meaningful upgrade. I figured I'd get £500 at best for my OLED so rather than hand someone a bargain will put it in my Bedroom!!
