Picked up my new car this weekend........955hp V10 Audi RS6! (HP figure updated 08/10/22)

Considering the size of the engine and power it's not "bad" at 18mpg mixed, 23mpg M-way, 10-12mpg when hooning and lower on the track (less than 5 but difficult to calculate) :D

That's not far off my M3 which has less than half the power, I'd say that's actually rather efficient!

my old v10 rs6 averaged 17.7mpg with some very tame driving to london and back via a roads and he m1, yes a bit of traffic but your mpg is probably better than standard.

MY old m3 supercharged (e46) made better mpg too, i think its because they are not being wound up as much to make the same progress?

What kinda work you doing these days Ian? You still on aircraft?

This car is quite a spectacular machine! Almost beats the old 7 series you had when you were my neighbour up lossie :D

Ah the infamous "Murder Car" :D

I'm an Instructor in a mixed "Training Cell & Q-Course school" style department of a global aerospace company teaching our customers everything from 1st line work on their aircraft and using test equipment (Training cell) to building avionic LRU's and performing component repairs on circuit boards etc (Q-Course).

Sounds exciting right...........My last course was teaching 2nd line Tornado SMS LRU repair to the guys in the bay at Marham :(

I might go but I probably won't be going down the strip as it's the worst of both worlds for my car - heat soaked IC's sat in static air robs me of power and the high grip surface in 1st gear with 830lbs/ft = expensive bills - so I'd have to make it a "rolling" start which kills the time etc it's just not worth it.

I also prefer track days to drag too so I'm doing the ASDA "On Your Marks" Charity trackday again this year.

that's if it doesn't rain, because Drag Racing used to be cancelled if it rained ........ i have a feeling we're gonna have a bad summer, lets hope not

Hi all, I needed to sort out my Exhaust after MRC fitted it offset by 3in to the right, causing the Left DP to bang on the gearbox mount on left turns on bumpy roads, plus causing all kinds of other fitment issues. I also had my removable eBay Cats fitted for the MOT later this week, lets see how well they work! It'll be going back to de-cat afterwards.

Plus a bonus Meyle HD front suspension arms pic.

How does this sound when idle?

Spotted one creeping down a small road looking for a parking space. Was big and black - I think it was de-badged too!

Some middle aged short woman hops out. Felt like giving her a kiss and a hi five!

When it's de-catted it's a very deep burble with a hint of harshness (I sound like a wine connoisseur) but with the cats fitted it's still bassy but very muted in volume which I'm not a fan of so as soon as the MOT is done the Cats are off!

When I was underneath I also noticed I could really do with a new under-tray, mines a bit battered!

Well yeah, it probably is but not according to my car after a 45 minute A-road trip -

Fellow C6 RS6 owners will understand how strange this is but the pic below shows 255 miles already driven (a 200 miles a week B/A-road & Mway commute with another 55 miles of country road weekend fun) and I've still another 50+ miles left with no fuel light yet!!! -

Once I'd filled up I got this pretty ridiculous range figure -

Now the MPG figure will be down to the injectors which are bigger than stock and therefore have a lower duty cycle for the same amount of demand, which'll be throwing the OBC MPG calc's off but there is actually a noticeable improvement in the distance I get per tank. It used to be 1 tank per Mon-Fri for the commute with the fuel light on on Friday afternoon. Now I'm getting around an extra 30-50miles per tank with the same style of driving (measured over 3 weeks now) which is nice!

Sailed through it's MOT today, I can't wait to get the de-cats back on as you can really feel that the power is down with the Cats fitted and the glorious V10 noise is much more muffled.

Then on Saturday I'm off to an Audi meet where there's the first 900+ car also going to be there. I know the current owner (he modded my headlights) and previous owner (brining a R8 GT) quite well so it should be fun!

Eh??????? Who the, what the???????? Do i win a prize?????

To be honest it would have been nice if PH had actually read the thread instead of skimming it as they got so many things wrong in the story :D

It's nice anyway, thanks PH!!!

Wow what a car, what is the stability like at 150MPH +.
The fastest car I ever drove would only reach 128MPH, so god knows what it is like to break the 200MPH barrier.

Upto 190mph-ish it's as stable as when it's doing 70mph but, like it's passed a magic number, as soon as it gets past 190-195mph it gets a little lighter at the front. Not in a "bad" way where it feels dangerous, it just feels lighter than before so not as planted (like a mondeo doing 120mph).
