Picked up the GT4 last night...

will do, I filled her up with £25 of optimax when I bought her and it lasted 125 miles of thrashing, so not too bad!

saw one of those the other week at a meet, the turbo on it was so large the outlet hose was sticking out through the bonnet vent. Looked like it was rapid :p

I've been in one of the older shape ones, it was running some mods as it has a turbo timer and boost gauge in, was running 1bar boost and tbh i thought it was a bit underwhelming, seemed slugish to me, I can only assume there was something wrong with it though. They are nice, but if i wanted a 4wd loony wagon i'd sooner get a scoob or evo, GT4's arent the obvious choice.

Older ones were 1.8s, the ST205 was a stormer in comparison I think, from what I've heard from owners anyway :)

nah they were all 2.0, they run the 3SGTE engine which more famously sits in the back of MR2 turbo's.

On that note i've been in a modded MR2 turbo and that was seriously rapid, would blow the doors off my 300zx at pretty much any speed.

the older ones are actually heavier, nearer 1500kg and 200bhp standard, the ST205 is 1300kg and 250bhp standard.

on the owners club the old ones are known as the ST1 overweight 5

I chose the GT4 over the scoob or evo cause I didn't want something absolutely mental - I wanted something that was like the prelude, but torquier that drove at least the rears. also the GT4 's insurance is pretty much half the other rally slags :p

nah im in southampton till this afternoon, you would know if it was me, i have a fairly large exhaust on it now :D

You're right about the insurance - I can get fully comp insurance @ 21 0NCB in central coventry (ie not the best postcode in the world) for £1600.

Absolutely stonking value for money cars. - I dont know why more people dont own them tbh.

Havent been in one for a test drive but over the next few weeks it's definately on the cards.

Cool car, I've been thinking about looking for a jap sports car. But my g/f has just bend someone's Micra so I'll have 1 years NCB in May, not the 4 I was expecting :( . So I think that'll be out of the window.

Shame, this doesn't look bad. £1600 shipped to the UK, and it's SVA exempt.
