Tuning N/A is my speciality now, it's an expensive game I tell ya.Pick your mods carefully. Also when looking at things like exhaust systems - find out how much the OE systems weigh and ask how much the aftermarket systems weigh - with N/A you need bhp increases and weight saving all at the same time.
I made weight savings on everything I bought, even down to wheel nuts and alloy strut braces. Next thing is to change the battery....little things start to make quite a difference.
Best of luck, spend wisely.

Congratulations on the Puma, ive never driven a standard 1.7 but i cant see it being much less fun than myn ( AND I LOVE MYN)
Pumas are very expensive if your trying to get any power out of them. A turbo kit will give you around 149 bhp but the money trying to do it runs into £1000s and £1000s. If you want more power then the best option is getting hold of a Racing Puma engine which is 155 BHP standard. Will be the same price + fitting of the turbo conversion but is far less likley to go bang. ( but tbh once you have spent money doing the engine you might as well have bought a FRP hehe
I would also suggest getting your polybushes done, they allways make a big diffrence![]()
www.pumapeople.com is the way to go![]()
Conanius said:Interesting points you've made there mate ... never even considering asking about the weight. I guess also with my car being quite light as standard, every kilo I can loose the better !
When it comes to things like transmission changes (clutches and flywheels) is the best option there to get these lightened ones... simon tried to explain all that unsprung mass stuff to me, but I didnt really understand !
hmm... from what I thought the engine was about 125 bhp stock, with puma builds stage 3 (replacement panel filter, exhaust, manifold, cams and rechip) giving about 25-30 bhp... which puts me up at near RFP power levels... however a guy at work is currently pricing up a throttlebody setup/supercharger for me.. but that might have to wait till I've paid the car off

Throttle bodys are the way to go gareth BUT the expensive is quite alarming
